I think Raikonnen because he's good at Melbourne and Ferrari has the best team. Massa or Alonso second probably.

Im on no ones side, but you cant deny that Ferrari looks like the team to beat (at the moment). I think Massa will win, but I wouldnt put money on it though.

another hour and then we will see a real indication of how the season may develop.

Still, Ferrari all the way though.

Also, is it me or does the new season feel slighly strange without the maestro (M. Scumacher)???

well imo it dosent feel much different....we're gonna here james allen say things like, "this is the first (insert country here) race that will be contested without michael schumaher....." and "for the eagle eyed among you, you may notice michael schumacher isnt with us this weekend"....which will be a pain in the rear :P However, it *should* be more competitive without him, even though it would of been classic to see him go head to head against kimi.

I think it will be an interesting race but, if testing is anything to go by, this may be a two-horse race... and those two horses are Kimi and Felipe. Not sure Renault has the pace and I'll believe McLaren reliability when I see it. That said, it will be interesting to see how Massa and Raikkonen compare to one another, and how well Ferrari reacts to the pair of them racing one another.

partially agree - how many times have we heard "this will be the most open season in years" only to have to endure a 2 horse race. Although I do believe Mclaren will be competitive this year, with both good performance and reliability. However, if things go the way u have stated, ie another ferrari dominating season (which i certainly hope it dosent) I believe massa will have the upper hand, in the first quarter of the season at least. He has 1 years experience at ferrari, while Kimi appears to be still adapting. But im sure the kimi massa battles will be the best we've seen in a long time. Provided they're allowed to race

A very interesting result I must say, we got five teams all up there. Exciting stuff. Davidson and Sato are doing well in there Honda's, uhm I mean Aguri's. The bottom half of the list was sort of expected but quite encouraging to see DC in the top ten. I really cant wait for the real action to start.

Hi guys, sorry for not being around lately, but I had a lot of university work. :)

I woke up at 7 AM today to watch the testing session. It was good, and you could clearly see that Ferrari have the edge so far with Mclaren not too far behind, but Renault are really out of pace. Looks like it's going to be a Ferrari-Mclaren duel on sunday, with Massa having the overall edge.

Things look very interesting so far, this season might really be the season we've been waiting for!

And yes I'll wake up early in the morning to watch the qualifying session, otherwise I wouldn't deserve the leader position at a Formula One union! :P

Time to go to bed already :P
Final predictions anyone ? I think it will be Ferrari on row one, McLaren on two, after that anything is possible. I expect Wurz, BMW and Davidson to do well, Renault will probably get row three at max. Just my thoughts.

A brilliant qualifying session and it was certainly worth to stay up for it. All the way through it looked between Ferrari, McLaren and BMW! Massa was unlucky and it seems that Ferrari are not so reliable as previous years.

I am so happy that Sato got into the top 10, hopefully the SA can get a point or two this race. I am guessing Raikkonen is fueling a little shorter than Hamilton and Alonso but only be a couple of laps. I am not sure how much fuel Heidfeld is carrying as he is normally not that fast but this year the car is very good so I will just have to wait and see.

It was sooooooo worth staying up for. Raikkonen is definetly being fueled shorter than the McLarens. And the other thing i noticed, Fernando and Lewis were on par with each other throughout the sessions.

More of this action for the race please :P

I think he'll be in the top 5, if not 3rd, to say the least. For now, Raikkonen gonna nick it with 10 points.

Don't count your chickens just yet. Ferrari have IMO Reliability issus to keep in mind, Massa's gearbox yesterday. is a showing of that. Schumi's engine in Japan, last year. and i know some of you will say. "but thats last year". it doesn't matter. Ferrari had managed to keep their cars invincible for 4 years, and now i think cracks are showing.

Its just my opinion

The qualifying session was nice to watch. Nice performance from the top drivers, but it's such a shame that Massa had a gear-box problem. Looks like the race is gonna be interesting, now I just need to sleep early and wake up at 6 AM! :?
