I think they just have to come up with a legal wing, for the people who didnt know they were disqualified from the last race because they had rear flex wings.

This is regarding Renault's mass dampers.

Reports are saying that Renault will be using their 'illegal' mass dampers for the race weekend after a dismal performance at Germany. How will this affect their performance? After all, the Ferraris did whacked them at the USGP and Magny Cours.

Will the dampers give them and advantage?

Illegal mass dumpers?! That would be the most stupid move Briatore could ever do! I don't think that Renault are dumb to use illegal parts that they know they'll get penalized for.

They are not illegal, The FIA thinks they are, Renault will get it sorted by the weekend. It won't give them an Advantage but it will give them a better performance than Germany

just to tell you what these dampers do i'll tell you, lol

the Dampers that the FIA have banned are located inside the front wing, what this does is help the car ride bumps on the road and kurbs a lot easier and keeps the car plated to the road, since Hockenheim is a bumpy track anyway and has tall curbs, it didn't help them at all.

That was pathetic, I dislike Alonso just as much as Schumacher and this is one of the reasons. Remember the French GP where he came up to lap a slower car and waved at the marshals trying to force them the blue flag on the lapped car, but the car was like 3 seconds ahead. Then during the last qualy session when Schumi jumped ahead of him at the pitstop, it wasnt even close to being contact and listen to Alonso complain on the radio:"did you see what Michael did". Well at least he doesnt park his car at Rascasse awkwardly.

Here are the highlights of the GP's at Hungary, by the number of highlights you can see how many exciting races there have been at that track.

Mansell vs Senna, Hungarian GP 1989

Piquet vs Senna, Hungarian GP 1986

Hill vs his car, Hungarian GP 1997

Well, Alonso is not exactly known for having good sportsmanship, so I'm not very surprised. But he gave Shumi a very good advantage that he might regret for later.

Isnt Schumacher briliant ? He pretty much gets the race trown at him by Alonso and yet he screws up. Like in 1994 he was leading the championship comfortabely and he still manages to get himself banned for two races. And like in Monaco where he screwed up, after his moment of brain-fade he shows what he is really made off. In Monaco he came from the pitlane to 5th and now he recorded the absolute fastest lap of the weekend. I hope Webber wins tomorrow.

It has been 20 years since it rained in Hungary during a F1 race, it would be very exciting to see rain 2moro! :) As for the qualifying session, Shumi blew his biggest chance 2day, what was he thinking!?

If u are talking about his penalty, i posted this in another thread but incase u missed it:  http://youtube.com/watch?v=KzFD_aEVeAY  its obvious alonso is going very slow, and it looks to me he speeds up just after schumacher passes, but  the video ends to soon for me to back that up. Still, schumacher shouldnt of passed under the red flags.

What an absolute fantastic race with a fantastic result: Button, de la Rosa & Heidfeld. Its been a race of winners and losers, but what was Schumacher thinking when eliminated himself for the second time this weekend.

Congratulations Jenson Button !!!

Kubica just got disqualified for being under weight which means that Schumacher will score a point after all.

yeh kubica had excessive tyre wear or sumthing which made the car lighter. its unfortunate for him cuz he did extremely well IMO. recovering from 2 spins, a broken nose cone and still finished 7th.

looks as though heidfeld made and ambitious dive down the inside, got on the damp side of the track, and naturally just slides on and schumacher just turns in on him. i mean, i know a drivers view is limited but youd think he would of saw that bmw.....

Well there is now way that anyone would have missed him, he was already 80% in front. Ill admit that it was an optimistic move but it was a good move and yet Schumacher just turns in like its Jerez 97 all over again. He should have given up at that point and take home the points.

The best race I've seen in years, just like the old days! :)
I'm so glad that it rained, but it must have been a nightmare for the drivers with very low visibility!

It was a very dramatic race; first Kimi dominates, then he crashes, Alonso dominates, then he crashes, Shumi wakes up, but he retires before 4 laps, not to mention the other intense overtakings. I think that this race had the biggest number of overtakings this season.

Congrats to Button; he deserved it. De la Rosa was very impressive, better than Montoya as far as I'm concerned. Heidfeld did well too.

But if Kimi and Alonso didn't crash and Shumi had a better strategy, I think that it would have been a completely different story.

He was already out of the hairpin. He had Liuzzi in front of him and another car along Liuzzi. He wasnt going to go anywhere with those cars blocking the track and yet he drove right through Liuzzi. Even the announcers were wondering what Kimi was doing.

Brilliant race, Now we really do see the real schumi, he wasn't prepared to hand over those positions easy, especially when cut up De la Rosa, then when same chicane, he should of just let heidfeld pass, he was 3secs a lap quicker, and he trys to defend his position, i'm sorry, but i think this is a sign of desperation by the 7 time champ *cough*  (that he doesn't deserve)

I'm not a fan of Shumi, but in his defence I think that he was doing very well and he could have probably ended with the 3rd place if it wasn't for the wrong tyres.
