HRT's plans to link up in a technical partnership with Toyota have been aborted after the Japanese manufacturer announced it had terminated its deal with the new team.

It is understood that HRT was looking at a deal that would see it use the Toyota's team's planned 2010 car as the basis for next year's challenger - as well as having use of certain facilities at the Cologne factory.

However, in a statement issued on Monday, Toyota Motorsport announced that the plans had been killed off because payments had not been made.

"Toyota Motorsport GmbH (TMG) confirms that all cooperation with Hispania Racing F1 Team (HRT) has been terminated and will not resume," said the statement.

"TMG retains all intellectual property rights to its current F1 car and is completely free to pursue other projects and support new customers for its high-performance engineering services.

"TMG regrets that HRT has not met its contractual payment obligations and will pursue all available options to reach a satisfactory conclusion to this matter."

Kimi sums it up pretty much.

I really hope HRT get their act together in getting money going, but this seems a major blow as thats pretty much their car for next season up in smoke so they will have to develop a new car or modify this seasons which is kind of a bad move given how slow it is. Seems like this could be the start of the end for HRT then :(

HISPANIA "SURPRISED" BY TOYOTA ACTIONS

HRT has expressed its surprise at Toyota's announcement that it has ended a planned technical collaboration with the Spanish team.

With HRT believed to have been on the verge of a deal that would have seen it develop a version of Toyota's planned 2010 car for its own challenger for next season, a statement on Monday said the deal was off.

Toyota cited that HRT had not met its contractual payment deadlines, and the announcement has seen doubt emerge about how the Spanish team will get a car ready for next season.

The outfit has so far remained silent about the implications of the Toyota announcement, but a short statement said: "Hispania Racing is very surprised about Toyota's press statement released this afternoon and this matter will be a subject of further clarification."

HRT began this season with a Dallara-built chassis but it terminated its relationship with the Italian racing car manufacturer early in the campaign.

Hah hah this just gets better and better. It sounds like Hispania need to read their email every now and again. This really does sound like the end of this team if they have not got anybody available to design and build a chasis that is competative, test the chasis and modify it where they need to, oh and on a budget of aproximetly 0 pounds now and 0 in the future.

This is sad news really as I really wanted HRT to make another year but if they are allready having problems getting the car even designed never mind actually built and up to spec then they are going to be pretty much not making the grid thus no sponsorship or decent drivers will touch the team so they are stuck in a loosing situation it seems.

Wasn't the 2010 Toyota/Stefan GP car supposed to be the dog's nuts of a car like the Brawn of 2009?, If Hispania got their act together they'd of had a half decent package for next year :P

Simulation running put it equal to, or better than, the Red Bull package.

Ah so it wasnt actually from track timing? I mean simulations are good but I would want to see this in action as there has a tendacy to sand bag etc to not show true form and it would amaze me if Toyota had the best package and did not enter the car after all :(

yeaaaa, Same with Honda and Brawn, but they did buy the team out as we know... But its how F1 runs, if it ain't working then, it ain't working, but until the penny drops do people really know whats happened when they've sold a team or bought one.

That leaves me even more concerned that HRT have failed to pay up for what is effectivly a working car with some adjustments needed. This sounds like they have absaloutly nothing planned now for next year if their car chasis has been scrapped already :?
