well its quite evident that f1 cars have too many driver aids. Getting rid of TC will make cars harder to drive which should provide better entertainment. F1 should be more like GP2

Well, that will probably show more driver than car skills. Sadly, many drivers could have survived if this would have been invented before.

dont think so, most fatalities in F1 occured because the chassis wasnt designed well enough to protect the drivers in an impact. F1 cars nowadays are. Many impacts such as Hamilton in testing, Heidfeld in Indy last year, fisi in spa 05 etc all were big accidents, but the drivers still walked away safely. so traction control can afford the boot.

Thinking about it again, that seems right. Do you think drivers will have trouble adapting without it???

heres something for ya to think about. Did you wonder why the cars were slipping and sliding around all over the place in melbourne 2 weeks ago?

I think this TC ban was talked about quite a bit before the race 2 weeks ago, and that rules are now (without our knowledge) that toned down TC is in force and drivers are having to get used to it.  So when next year comes they'll be back in the rythm.

Could it be also one of the reasons why Hamilton did so well, with GP2 cars running no TC, hes used to that style of Driving and with toned down TC its SLIGHTLY helped him.

I dunno what your opinons are on this.

I think they would.. it is just a matter of pedal on the gas in a slightly different degree instead of all gas down..

I dont think TC has been weakened this year, its still almost completely un policeable. The slipping and sliding I think was just due to the new tyre constructions. The harder sidewalls make the tyres alot stiffer and less pliable. Lowers grip limit.

we all know it takes the FIA at least 3 years to make any sorta rule change, so thats outa the question

But seriously what would they have to gain by doing that? I think the lack of grip was down to the BStones and the fact that Aus was a street race (I think martin brundle mentioned that)

I think most will, except maybe DC and Rubens as they've raced without traction control before. And maybe Button, as his "smooth style uses little to no TC yada yada yada..." as James Allen keeps liking to inform us about.

They are still better then the french commentators. They star to freak out when a driver has debris on a tyre!!!!! This one time they got an interview with schumi and he was nodding his head at every question.... I definitly think he thought that the guy was stupid there:P.

This should add more entertainment as drivers will have to use their full controlling skills, but I'm worried about reduced safety w/o TC.

I sure hope this causes any deaths. Cause it would be sad to lose another driver. Last one we lost was probably the best so lets not let it happen again.

Lets not forget that Senna's death was not caused by the loss of TC.

His death was caused by his car scrapping the floor at Tamburello, becuase of the accident at the beginning of the race, after that, the race was started under a safety car. while this was happening Senna's Tyre Pressures were dropped. this caused the car to scrape the floor. After the car has Hit the floor at Tamburello he lost downforce and grip, meaning the car stepped out, he managed to correct the car and he locked the brakes fully, but he ran out of road.

TC is used to slow wheels down if they are going to fast or they lose control.

Indeed, without TC I think Alonso will be pretty screwed the way he throws the cars into corners. As for TC picking it up in Aussie. It probably would have to a point, but I'd say there is a little bit of play, because if there was like 100% TC the car would be constantly be bogged down by a lack of engine speed created by excess TC response.

I was not implying that that was the reason. Btw, I heard that his steering broke. I think he was killed of steering failure.

If you want stupid, I think the best are the Americans on SPEED. Monaco 2004, even after seeing a replay of Schumi's crash, If I remember rightly they STILL said he suffered a driveshaft failure...
