I joined this union just over one year ago. I was delighted when I got promoted and have enjoyed serving the union beside my fellow officers of the union, and discussing all the news and events of the F1 world with the many great members here. But that was some time ago, and times have changed....

I am writing this message openly, as I feel PM's are not doing justice. It is no secret that this union is now in a very troubled state. Posts are on the decline, union events are dying, members are leaving and raw activity is at an all time low. This is down to many factors, such as a shorthanded administration, lack of activities.....but more importantly the lack of a constant appearance of our "leader".

Over the passed few months, its been blatantly obvious that aloushi hasnt been doing a good job. The union has been kept afloat by the pure grit and dedication of kipi19 and myself, also not forgetting redders1989 and mjk1 amongst the many others who have left. Aloushi, you told us you were busy over the passed few months, we accepted that, and we waited. There is only so long someone can wait and hope, before fustration builds amidst what are inevitably seen as false claims. Recently, you have once again promised us change, but nothing is happening. If you are that busy and/or occupied with other tasks, I once again suggest you concede leadership, to someone more willing to save this union from its inevitable death. It would be unfair and indeed insulting, to the members such as kipi19 and mjk1, who have been here longer than myself, and the current active members, who have put in so much work, if you continue with this charade and allow the union to die, just because you are unwilling to concede leadership.

The recent changes you suggested are far from acceptable. Regarding the new "Administration" which you appeared to be proud of, all i can say is what the hell? you promoted ONE dedicated member, while I could gladly name 4-5 others just as worthy of an officer position. An active union needs at least four active officers to run a union and set a good example to members, not to mention an active leader.

There has been much hard work being done by the active officers behind the scenes to change the things way are. It would be a great shame for all this effort to go to waste, which is what I feel at this moment in time. There is no point making a big effort, if at the end of the day, it will come down to nothing.

I realise how this may sound, but i felt it was a necessity.....So once again, I ask you, aloushi, to concede leadership to a more willing member, or make a better effort to commit before the damage becomes irreversable.

I'm fully in agreement with what Blaze has said, the amount of effort that some of us have put into this union to save it from utter faliure is well, words can't describe, Aloushi we have probably put more effort into saving this place than you have trying to keep it running.

I've served as an officer here for almost two years, been in this union for 2 and a half years and i have enjoyed spending my time here, and i would like to again, and not be trying everyday to find a piece of news that might get at least 5 posts. we all want to have fun, chat about F1 and make friends, thats what we wanted in the beggining, but it seems that this is very much on the impossible side right now.

I am formally asking you to concede leadership to a willing, prepared and fully active officer, stay and save us from extinction, or i shall hand in my resignation.

You have until the end of the week to take an option, if you have not chosen an option by Friday evening GMT, I will be resigning as not only an officer of this Union, but also a member. it is something i fully regret to say, but i have come to this desicion and nothing is going to change it.

This is a serious matter that you the "Leader" should very much consider.

I feel I must apologise to the members of this union who come to talk about F1 and have found nothing but a desolate waste ground. We have tried and tried, but it seems our efforts are in vain.

I'm sorry

This place has indeed reached an extreme low.. I sometimes post a message and wait days, even a week for people to reply. Often I load the forum to see that every topic icon is red, indicating that not one post has been made since I last left a day before. It has a knock on effect, because when I see red icons, I simply leave and don't post a message because I just expect that there won't be a response, and I'm sure that's why some others don't post too often either. It's hard to join in when I feel like I'm talking to myself. Anyway, I'll certainly be staying here and posting as much as I can, and I'll make predictions for the remaining Grands Prix so at least I know I'm helping you keep some life into this place.

Aloushi,

As your newest officer, I must thank you for the position you have given me and the chance for me to improve this Union, but you are well aware now that this is a more difficult task than ever.

I run alongside Blaze and Kipi at this moment in time, in that urgent action is needed immediately or the union will die. We have over 325 members on this forum board, and at best, 7 or 8 different people post here in a day. There is only so much we as officers can do here, and as "our leader", you need to be assisting us with pushing this Union further.

You have made us aware that you have been completing your Summer Courses, which has been your reason of recent absence, which is fair enough, and all of us here could comply with the wait we had until your full return. However, your return has come, and since you have returned you have PM'ed the officers once and posted one message in a thread. It seems the officers are taking upon more effort than you.

At the end of the day, being leader of a Union takes massive amounts of effort. It is your creation, therefore you must make sure it grows, and develops into something successful, and without doubt you have done that. But after this, the effort can't be let down. The continuity of the Union needs to be maintained, and the effort in this is just as important as the growth and success of it. So yes, it is the summer now, and everyone will be going out in the sunshine (which, in the UK, has been missing for a VERY long time until recently), so maybe activity may be a tad lower than usual, but it shouldn't be as drastic as having to have just a handful out of 300-odd posting everyday, if we are to be successful we need those 300-odd posting daily, keep us on our feet, have varied opinions on different topics, having fun competitions and such, but most importantly, make friends who share the same amount of passion for this incredible sport as we do. It requires a lot of effort and determination, and, I know personally, I can't feel that from "our leader".

I'll tell you something: I run a Formula 1 Website. It's something that I find fun to do, and I enjoy the work, effort and determination I put into it. I advertise it a lot, I constantly post bulletins on MySpace about it, and the link is even in my signature, but I get very little, if any, views at all. Of course, it is a shame, but I don't give up hope, because I feel that maybe one day someone will see it and think "hey, this isn't so bad", and they may go and tell their friends about it, an eventually the site will grow and become big. One day, the forum board I have on there might actually be used and run successfully. My point is, at the end of the day, the effort and determination I put in towards this website is massive. I've had it over 2 years, it hasn't gone far, but I have the belief that it will, one day, become a popular site. The effort and determination I show for that needs to come from you, Aloushi, for this Union. It's been brim-full of continuous posts before, and I feel with work, and these two key words again: EFFORT and DETERMINATION, we can hit those highs yet again.

A Leader has effort and determination, and will become one with his co-workers to make their Union, company, business, or party, the best it can be, as strong as ever. A Leader is brim-full of ideas constantly, and when he's stuck, can discuss with his co-workers on new ideas to continually make sure that the best is available for their end users, in our case those who are members of this union. They don't want to be visiting websites for the latest news and gossip from the world of F1, they want to come here and see it already posted. They want to express their opinions on the topics and see others. They also want fun activities they can take part in, and as you yourself said in the PM to the officers, the F1PU Vision Championship isn't enough, so work needs to be done to provide new and exciting activities for the members to take part in.

At the end of the day Aloushi, you and all of us members need to be in CONSTANT discussions on how to continually make the F1PU better and better. This Union is one of a rare breed: flaming, or insults of any kind to any other members, is virtually NIL on this board. I have rarely ever seen any insults on this forum board; all differences are settled in an adult way here, and this is one of very few reasons why I am so keen to keep this Union going as strong as it used to. At the moment, the only Admin members I see making any effort to ensure the survival of this place are myself, Blaze and Kipi. No one is taking your rights away from doing whatever you feel like in your personal life, but the F1PU needs some form of priority as you are "our leader". So I declare, Aloushi, on behalf of everyone of the F1PU Union, you take a choice of one of two options:

  1. Declare a Vote of Confidence: Should you do this, I will make a thread where the entire F1PU gets their say in whether you should stay or you should go as leader of this Union (as I would be running the vote, I will not be allowed my say, although I hope that this post clearly states my feelings of the F1PU's current state). Should you gain the majority of the votes, you may stay as leader of the F1PU, although we (and I mean officers) WILL be ensuring that your, and I quote, "promises", are met.
  2. Resign as F1PU leader: In which case, I shall make a thread where the entire F1PU gets their say in which current officer will take the place of Leader of the F1PU (I will run for the position, however if I am elected and I cannot fufil my tasks as leader once back in 6th Form, I will resign to give another officer a chance).

I apologise that things have had to become rather sour like this Aloushi, but the option of staying as leader and fulfilling these promises as the officers wished seems to have been overlooked, so I leave you with those two options. I am grateful for being allowed into this Union, I am grateful you've given me the role of an officer, but the F1PU is in crisis now, and we need a leader to stand tall and get us back to where we were: So declare a vote of confidence, or leave. Trust me, I never wanted things to be this way, but drastic measures call for drastic times.

Kindest Regards,

Redders.

Dear fellow members and officers,
I appreciate this thread where you have grouped your opinions; it shows your true F1 passion and how much you care for the union. With no further delay, this is my formal reply that you have all demanded.

I understand your deep frustration and anger, and you probabaly have every right to feel it. After all, you are the heart of this union that keeps it alive. Throughout the past few months, I've been absent due to some personal problems. I know that my problems shouldn't be affecting the union, and that is why I'm changing the sheets now.

But first, I have to express my disappointment in your trust in me. I admit that I wasn't an example of a good leader in the past few months, but look at the years before that. Many of you guys weren't here at that time, but there were actually times were I was running this union single handedly due to the lack of active officers to help me! At that time, I was left alone with minimal help from the few officers that were there at that time. Now, when the tides change, and the officers have time while I don't, you just all turn on me? Where is the steel trust that was built between us over the past 2 years? Was it all gone just like that?

The union was lucky to get some great officers such as Kipi, Blaze and Redders who have helped tremendously in keeping the union alive. Also, icytower contributed quite an amount to the union. Furthemore, we had some great officers for a while like cm-gamer_2, jamie, SMUboi and MotoGP74. I'd like also to mention a charter meber, Lonzac; who have left the union long time ago due to personal business.

The officers have received the activities mail I have sent them, and with their help I am pretty confident that the F1PU can rise again and stand on its feet. And to the dear memebrs, expect quite a number of activities in the coming days.

I once again appologize for my absence, but there are things in life that just can't be helped. I know that I can't regain your trust immediately, but I'm sure that the coming days will heal all the wounds. I believe that a leader who was able to keep this union running through even tougher times can once again save this union, but this time with the help of the officers. This time I'm back, and this time it's for real!!!

Kind regards,
The F1PU Leader (aloushi87)

Days? You think days... its gonna take months before we are firmly on our feet Aloushi... you cannot expect us to do this, and regain your trust is a very hard thing to do at the moment.

This is i still believe Outragous, i still feel that there is hardly any gratitude at all for what us officers have done to keep this union alive. Icytower, Redders, Blaze, Myself, SMUboi, Khoo, Wombat, Cjek and many others have devoted time to sort this union out to help everyone else.

I dont recall you being very active at all this season....we acknowledge you were active at one point, but times have changed. If you cannot keep up, then the union fails. Its as simple as that. Members are here to talk about F1, and not to hear multiple excuses has to why this/that didnt happen, why this/that cant happen etc and many members DEPEND on this union, as it is the only place they feel they can talk about F1.....if your problems were that bad, why not hand over the reigns to someone else even temporarily? or was the trust not as strong as you say, that you wouldnt trust another officer to give it back? The union has suffered tremendously over the passed few months, and I find it hard to comphrehand, as we could barely do anything to stop it.

I havent been around as long as yourself or others, but I did at one point have a strong solid trust in you....but, you made promises you couldnt keep constantly, and that trust slowly faded away, and after many months, im sorry to say that its virtually gone now.

Like I said if you arent up to the job for whatever reason, then maybe you should consider not doing it anymore. As for me, I simply cannot watch this union fail anymore, and members leave, even regardless of what I do, and I do not want to commit like i did for several months, only to be disappointed again.....

Thanks for the reply at least, and I hope you have solved your personal problems

You don't have to be that offensive in your responses, officers.
I have stated my reasons (wether you care to know them or not) AND have stated how I'm going to fix things.

Kipi, you say that you "feel that there is hardly any gratitude at all for what us officers have done to keep this union alive", what more do you want m8? I have stated more than once that you are one of our best officers, and I hope that you continue with us. But if you feel that you cannot work with us to lift the union up again, then you know what to do.

Blaze, you said that "if you arent up to the job for whatever reason, then maybe you should consider not doing it anymore", did I say that m8?! I have stated my plans to lift this union up, so how do you say that after reading what I wrote both here and in the PM?

In brief, I have founded this union and I'm not planning to see it die before my eyes. I'm going to do this, if you care care join then you are welcomed.

I apologize if I was offensive, that is not my intentions here...

how can I say that? simple....this isnt the first time you have "commited" to making changes and fixing things, the last few times you promised changes, you became occupied with education/personal problems, so how can I be sure that it wont happen again? can i be assured that this time my efforts will it count for something? because recently, Ive felt like my passed years efforts have been in vein, as inevitably the union declined anyway

things wont just change overnight, we'll need everyone to be active, including yourself (which of course you know)...and this union is the reason i come onto gamespot so I supose im ready to commit one more time.

Also, you mentioned suitable officers: mjk, cjek, kimisapprentice, khoo.....if 3 guys can keep a union running for several months, these guys will help make this union shine.

Fellow members, I as-well have been absent from union for a while and was unaware of the troubles it was going through.

I am sorry for this and will try to make it up to all of you who who have been working hard for this union to survive.

Although Ihave only been a member for a short while I feel that I have been contributing to its downfall over the last couple of weeks, if not I certainly was not helping the situation.

Over the next few months I will try to help in any way I can to help get this union back on its feet, and I hope you can forgive me for my absence.

If I need to beinformed in anything related to the union, don't hesitate to contact me

Yours faithfully

The ideas were sent to the officers to start working on them. Some of them has already been implemented in the past few hours. Check the board and see by yourself. ;)
