Aloushi,
As your newest officer, I must thank you for the position you have given me and the chance for me to improve this Union, but you are well aware now that this is a more difficult task than ever.
I run alongside Blaze and Kipi at this moment in time, in that urgent action is needed immediately or the union will die. We have over 325 members on this forum board, and at best, 7 or 8 different people post here in a day. There is only so much we as officers can do here, and as "our leader", you need to be assisting us with pushing this Union further.
You have made us aware that you have been completing your Summer Courses, which has been your reason of recent absence, which is fair enough, and all of us here could comply with the wait we had until your full return. However, your return has come, and since you have returned you have PM'ed the officers once and posted one message in a thread. It seems the officers are taking upon more effort than you.
At the end of the day, being leader of a Union takes massive amounts of effort. It is your creation, therefore you must make sure it grows, and develops into something successful, and without doubt you have done that. But after this, the effort can't be let down. The continuity of the Union needs to be maintained, and the effort in this is just as important as the growth and success of it. So yes, it is the summer now, and everyone will be going out in the sunshine (which, in the UK, has been missing for a VERY long time until recently), so maybe activity may be a tad lower than usual, but it shouldn't be as drastic as having to have just a handful out of 300-odd posting everyday, if we are to be successful we need those 300-odd posting daily, keep us on our feet, have varied opinions on different topics, having fun competitions and such, but most importantly, make friends who share the same amount of passion for this incredible sport as we do. It requires a lot of effort and determination, and, I know personally, I can't feel that from "our leader".
I'll tell you something: I run a Formula 1 Website. It's something that I find fun to do, and I enjoy the work, effort and determination I put into it. I advertise it a lot, I constantly post bulletins on MySpace about it, and the link is even in my signature, but I get very little, if any, views at all. Of course, it is a shame, but I don't give up hope, because I feel that maybe one day someone will see it and think "hey, this isn't so bad", and they may go and tell their friends about it, an eventually the site will grow and become big. One day, the forum board I have on there might actually be used and run successfully. My point is, at the end of the day, the effort and determination I put in towards this website is massive. I've had it over 2 years, it hasn't gone far, but I have the belief that it will, one day, become a popular site. The effort and determination I show for that needs to come from you, Aloushi, for this Union. It's been brim-full of continuous posts before, and I feel with work, and these two key words again: EFFORT and DETERMINATION, we can hit those highs yet again.
A Leader has effort and determination, and will become one with his co-workers to make their Union, company, business, or party, the best it can be, as strong as ever. A Leader is brim-full of ideas constantly, and when he's stuck, can discuss with his co-workers on new ideas to continually make sure that the best is available for their end users, in our case those who are members of this union. They don't want to be visiting websites for the latest news and gossip from the world of F1, they want to come here and see it already posted. They want to express their opinions on the topics and see others. They also want fun activities they can take part in, and as you yourself said in the PM to the officers, the F1PU Vision Championship isn't enough, so work needs to be done to provide new and exciting activities for the members to take part in.
At the end of the day Aloushi, you and all of us members need to be in CONSTANT discussions on how to continually make the F1PU better and better. This Union is one of a rare breed: flaming, or insults of any kind to any other members, is virtually NIL on this board. I have rarely ever seen any insults on this forum board; all differences are settled in an adult way here, and this is one of very few reasons why I am so keen to keep this Union going as strong as it used to. At the moment, the only Admin members I see making any effort to ensure the survival of this place are myself, Blaze and Kipi. No one is taking your rights away from doing whatever you feel like in your personal life, but the F1PU needs some form of priority as you are "our leader". So I declare, Aloushi, on behalf of everyone of the F1PU Union, you take a choice of one of two options:
- Declare a Vote of Confidence: Should you do this, I will make a thread where the entire F1PU gets their say in whether you should stay or you should go as leader of this Union (as I would be running the vote, I will not be allowed my say, although I hope that this post clearly states my feelings of the F1PU's current state). Should you gain the majority of the votes, you may stay as leader of the F1PU, although we (and I mean officers) WILL be ensuring that your, and I quote, "promises", are met.
- Resign as F1PU leader: In which case, I shall make a thread where the entire F1PU gets their say in which current officer will take the place of Leader of the F1PU (I will run for the position, however if I am elected and I cannot fufil my tasks as leader once back in 6th Form, I will resign to give another officer a chance).
I apologise that things have had to become rather sour like this Aloushi, but the option of staying as leader and fulfilling these promises as the officers wished seems to have been overlooked, so I leave you with those two options. I am grateful for being allowed into this Union, I am grateful you've given me the role of an officer, but the F1PU is in crisis now, and we need a leader to stand tall and get us back to where we were: So declare a vote of confidence, or leave. Trust me, I never wanted things to be this way, but drastic measures call for drastic times.
Kindest Regards,
Redders.
