As the title suggests, this is a topic to discuss which of the current test drivers you'd like to see make a return in F1 or make their debut, and why you'd want to see them in.

TEST DRIVERS:

  • Luca Badoer (Ferrari)
  • Marc Gene (Ferrari)
  • Christian Klien (BMW-Sauber)
  • Marko Asmer (BMW-Sauber)
  • Lucas Di Grassi (Renault)
  • Romain Grosjean (Renault)
  • Sakon Yamamoto (Renault)
  • Nico Hulkenberg (Williams)
  • Sebastien Buemi (Red Bull)
  • Kamui Kobayashi (Toyota)
  • Brendon Hartley (Toro Rosso)
  • Alex Wurz (Honda)
  • Anthony Davidson (Honda)
  • Mike Conway (Honda)
  • Luca Filippi (Honda)
  • Vitantonio Liuzzi (Force India)
  • Pedro de la Rosa (McLaren)
  • Gary Paffet (McLaren)

I'd say Christian Klien. I always rated him highly, even though he didn't always bring home the points. I'd still like to see him back in a race seat though.

I'm with TR on this. Klien was one of my favourite mid-card drivers so to say. His results never showed his true potential. How many times was Klien beating DC in 2006 when reliability would come and rob him? Quite a fair few times. Indeed, it would've been Klien that got the podium in Monaco if it wasn't for problems.
