Hi everyone, although this is purely a Formula One Union and has nothing to do with soccer, yet this is a special and beautiful occasion that happens once every 4 years. Therefore the F1PU Administration has decided to make an "exceptional" WC2006 Discussion Thread.

I must say Trinidad did a good job holding off Sweden, England started of strong in their match against Paraguay but were nowhere like that in the second half.
trinidad did do a very good job. I think the US has a chance with the czech republic having some injuries. They might squeeze through thanks to the goal differental.
Another disappointment for the US. All hype and nothing to show for it once again.icrackedtheaces
History has shown that US never played well in European soil... that's why we did so well in Japan and Korea... Anyways, they are up against Italy soon... both of my favorite teams so I don't know who to choose...

Now this is hotting up, USA just played 0-0 with Italy, every team in that group is in the hunt for a place in the next stage.
Penalty Kicks really hate England, I felt bad for them since they played well, but I don't know why Ericsson (sp?) played using one attacker only (Rooney, sp?). He could've played with 2 or 3 attackers and secured a victory in 90 minutes (IMO).
Unfortunatly England lost on penalties again, but to honest the way England played the WC they were never gonna take the cup, and the way Portugal played I hope they lose. Brazil out !!!, best WC thing ever since South Korea beat Italy last WC, I even wore a France t-shirt today :D. I hope either Germany or France win the world cup, Italy are a bunch of jerks as they made a protest against German player Frings for his role in the Argie row, I mean sure if he did something (which he did and is now suspended) its absolutly no business of Italy's what so ever since they werent in that match.
After Brazil got eleminated, I cheered for Portugal and Italy, and I'm glad that Italy won! To be honest, Argentina and Portugal were the stars of this WC (IMO), but Italy played very very well and deserved the cup.
But there's still a '?' regarding Zidane, I felt really sad for him since he's an awesome player but he ended his International career in a bad way. :(

yeah i felt sorry for zindane as well, i really wanted france to win italy had the egde, anyways now its the match fixing scandal for italy to worry about, i think we get the verdict today
