Am I lame for using a Strategy Guide when I'm playing Final Fantasies?

If you get more enjoyment out of it, then why not ? We're not going to judge you for playing a game differently.

I personally try not to use them unless I'm really stuck, I don't like knowing everything in advance. I like being surprised. ;)

If I happen to use them, it's on the second play-through time. That's when I try to do everything there is to do. C'mon, in FF XII it wasn't even possible to do the Zodiac Spear mission without a guide.

Ya man there is no shame in it at all. Everyone is different. some enjoying exploring in RPG's while others just bang out the main story. We all have different approaches, and there is nothing wrong with that, and don't let anyone tell you different.

Although I don't choose to use one, unless I'm getting really annoyed at a part I can't beat/figure out, etc. I too like to be suprised on what is coming. And on my second play through I like to see what I missed and how more awesome my party could have been lol.

For the most part, yes. I've haven't beaten the entire thing (it's very time-consuming and time is one thing I: DO NOT HAVE right now), so that's my opinion for now. I'm a little disappointed you didn't mention how awesome Balthier is! :D

I was extremely disappointed with that. And he didn't bash on the battle system enough :P I agree what he said about the side quests and missions though.
