FFVI - best characters, story and the most amazing last boss fight including an amazing ending. if you guys never played or completed it, you're missing out. no FF game has ever surpassed it story-wise, not even all the new ones...
FFX is the best game ever, not just FF game but best game period, and Lik if any game competed with FFVI storyline its FFX, the story was amazingmgatson

same here man and of the 1/2 of FFVII i played FFX owned it
i havent played ff7,ff8,ff9,ffX-2 and some others, im not sure. BUt of the Final Fantasy games i have played, i would have to say that final fantasy X is the best, it definetly has the best storyline, best characters and much more.

i second or third that guys, FFIV was very well handled, and wen FFX came around I was awed to see them do it again...no offence to 7 8 or 9 but they were a bit 2 similar for me, 7 & 9 were anyway.
FFX was an excellent game and it had a very unique storyline, but i still beleive that FFVII and FFVIII were better games. Perhaps its just due to their beign my first two, but I liked how they seemed to be darker than FFX. Even the world was grungier, and i liked that.
X was quite good. The story, music, graphics and battle system were all some of the best. What makes it not my favourite though is the lack of world map, the summons and the cloyster of trials. The cloyster of trials especially irritated me :?

I thought the same. I was reading some of the earlier post & it through me off when someone said I hope XII will be good. I thought they meant XIII until I looked at the date of the post.....Holy Sh**!!! I wonder if anyone's opinion has changed. I'm still a big fan of VI & VII & Crisis Core.
I've only played X, X-2, and XIII to the end so far and I'd have to go with FFX hands down. I really do need to play more of them though. Maybe I'll end up bumbing the topic once I've played more FFs in the series ;)

If you get around to playing them, I suggest you play FFVII, FFVIII, & FFIX. Those three are some of the best Final Fantasy games I've played so far. They're definitely worth getting from the PSN Store, but you have be careful because of the whole incident where the website getting hacked recently.

You haven't checked alot of my older posts I'm guessing. I already have all the non-MMO main series games and I got those 3 of the PSN about 10 monthes ago so I have the games I just need to find the time to get around to them all.Â

I would say play them in order as much as possible just cuz that will keep you from being disappointed by the presentation of the old ones. In order, you'll see the natural growth between them over time. Of course, you've only played the newest ones, so they'll all be graphical steps down at this point.
Thats true but I don't have any problems with playing older games even with their bad graphics but I have to admit that I prefer better graphics which unfortunately is the biggest thing lacking from rereleases of games because they simply port it rather than reworking it with better graphics.
Wow, I thought for the Complete Collection, all they would do was port the original FFIV. Strange, didn't know it got the same treatment as FF1 and 2 magitekk
I'm really not surprised about all the FFIV remakes they're releasing.
It might not be the best thing to budget but I'd like to see a collection with all the main series titles and their direct sequels with updated graphics, sound, and general design in one collection for one console. It will never happen but dare to dream right. :P
I don't give a s*** about any of that stuff, just gimme my damn FFVI.

Yeah, I would love a full 3D remake of VI. I just finished the game for the first time recently, but I can't help but think about how much cooler Kefka can be with his movements and voice that he has in Dissidia. But i think it will happen for 3DS at some point though. I remember reading somewhere that Square was going to do it on DS, but had troubles doing it with that hardware somehow, and then later said they will explore the 3DS and see what they can do there. I'm pretty sure it would be possible there, so I think it will probably happen. :)
