I've found a very distinguishable similarity between breath of fire IV and final Fantasy 7 its obvious but i would like to state the Ryu= Cloud and Sephiroth = that guy who is exactly like him ,caries a sword ,and is in contrast to Ryu. I forgot the name but the point remains valid final fantasy clones are ofthen very distinguishable if you know any other clones please post
lets see i also found legend of dragon is a FF clone i think most definately Breath of fire series also your favorite super smash bros did better but copied the idea of having there brand of characters in the game from Erhgiez Â

Even so, Smash Brothers didn't copy Erghiez there. If it did, so did other game you see out. Like the person above said, FF isn't the center of the universe.
no i just checked and im wrong but super smash bros came out 4 days before Ehrgiez which mostlikely means both nintendo and square came up with same idea but one did better
The reason why everything seem similar to Final Fantasy is because they are all traditional Japanese RPGs(including Final Fantasy). So far, Japanese RPGs haven't seen too much innovation over the based year as opposed to what's happening in Europe and North America. Hopefully Final Fantasy XII; and Mistwalker's Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey will break the mold. Honestly, I didn't not play most of the Japanese RPGs that released on the PS2.
Well, if we FF fans say there are FF clones, what will we say when people say FF is a clone of Dragon Quest? And you know I'm right, right? The DQ series came out before the FF series. But, I like them both.

You're actually very wrong. Super Smash Bros. originated 1 year before Ehrgeiz was released, so basically Ergheiz copied SSB. Even so, Ehrgeiz isn't a Final Fantasy game, so you can't say it was another Final Fantasy clone.
It matters little to me. As long as games have at least a few new ideas then i think they deserve the right to be called their own game instead of being called the clone of another seriesÂ
