Before u proceed reading below, remember that I'm not being jealous nor trying to say that one of the consoles should have the upper hand than the other in terms of FFXIII, but what I'm about to say is all just opinions and want to know what u guys and gals think about it, that's all :)
Now as far as we know, FFXIII is the same on both PS3 and Xbox360, there isn't any differences between them (correct me if I'm wrong). So, we also know that some people have both consoles with them, so when FFXIII gets released, the multiconsolers will most likely buy the 360 one because the PS3 Blu-Ray disc is more expensive yet there isn't anything in the PS3 FF13 that the 360 version doesn't have, so they will just ask themselves "Why should I pay extra money when there isn't anything extra in the PS3 version? I'll just buy the 360 one".
Since a Blu-Ray disc and the PS3's engine combined can hold more data and pressures than the 360 can, it's likely that Square are not planning to make use of these extra spaces because they want to balance the game at both consoles, which leaves that the PS3 would get released without making use of any of its engine's special capabilities.
I'll say it again that I'm not trying to say that the PS3 version should have more content than the 360, but what I thought about is why not add some extra features or utilities to the game that does not change or improve the game but yet it's something extra that can be worth the money payed for the blu-ray? An example is like the Luca theatre in FFX. It's not a part of the gameplay nor it influences it in any way, but it's still an addition that allows players to watch the cinematics and listen to the musics in-game, another addition is the beastiary like it was in FF12, the beastiary showed arts of the enemies and characters, but if you show them in 3D instead of arts, they are bonus addition, yet they don't influence the gameplay in any way.
So I thought the same, do u guys think that the PS3 version should have some extra utilities that doesn't make the gameplay any different from the 360 version but still creates a value for the extra money payed for the PS3 version? There are already many games out there that did these stuffs, but some other games that were ported on both consoles did not offer anything extra on the PS3 and thus caused the multiconsolers to prefer to buy it on 360 because they had no reason to make a decision of which version they should buy.
I think this will ensure that the PS3 version does not have an upper hand over the 360's gameplay but still makes the extra money payed for the blu-ray worth it. What do u think? :)
