Square Soft never really made any other FFs besides the ones in the main series. There were few..the most noticable one was FF tactics. Now SE has released FFXII-FFXIII..that may not seem like a lot but there is aso Crisis Core,DOC,ADvent Children...the created the Ivalice Alliance and released games under that. They came up with the compilation of FFVII. There is the remakes of FFIV and FFIII..which was the first time we had seen 3. They also acquired Eidos along with the Hitman and Tomb Raider franchises. I mean SE just seemed to accomplish more in my opinion. There is so much more coming too with FFXIV, Versus, Type-0, Type-1, Final Fantasy XIII-2. The thing is though is that Squaresoft did good and gave the company a huge start and when they turned into SE they continue to make us smile so both seem to be very good and have happened t impress me, I do not really think one is better than the other. They both were two parts of something bigger and that is Final Fantasy. That is my final verdict.
Technacally Star Ocean is developed by Tri-Ace and it is just published by Enix or SE. Kind of like what Tomb Raider is now...just published by SE and developed by Crystal Dynamics. In trhe end we are actually battaling not on two seperate companys but two different time periods in the same company. Because SE is the same as Squaresoft just as Squaresoft is the same as just Square. The company has just aquired small companys and went through a transformation, mainly with name. Who is to say the same thing would not have happend if Square had not takenb in Enix.
Legend and Anniversary were awesome. I really like Underworld but I did feel that the system was getting a little stale. Either way, the Trilogy collection was an awesome deal and I have high hopes for the new series. cjimrunYour right, I feel that Legend and Anniversary had to be my two favorites but Underworld it really didnt have much action to it. I couldnt even consider boss battles as boss battles.
