Personally i think Balthier should be the main character in FFXII, he s WAY cooler than Vaan, and contributes more to the story.....Vaan is literally just there for the ride....
I agree. As SOON as I started playing, I love Balthier as a character. Has got to be one of my favorites (and I got him on the cover of my Collectors Edition Strategy guide. And it's random thing (the character on the cover you get) so that is AWESOME)
Yah, Balthier does contribute al lot more than Vaan, he evens considers himself as the leader (if im right he actually says it a few times near the end).
It would make more sense to have Balthier as the main character, but Vaan (even though he doesn't do anything, really) fits the FF lead character image.
Vaans just that weird kid who fits the FF criteria of a main character

How do you think square enix did this story....halfway through the game they realized Balthier was a better character so they changed it in his favor :P
also Balthier looks like a man lol ever since Final Fantasy IX the men characters (main) of Final Fantasy games have started to look like girls....WHERE are the hot guys??!!! (like Auron! Or Squall or cloud!) :lol: looks like Final Fantasy versus XIII is going to change that though. (thank god :P )
