FG's FF Tip of the Day: Lv99 with Yans (FF9)

Want to Level all your beloved characters in FF9 as fast as possible? Well, for those who do not know, there's this island South-West of the Lifa Tree called th eVile Island, which  serves as the habitat of FF9's hardest regular enemies... Yans!

Don't be deceived by its small size and cuteness... It's a formidable opponent... But the rewards in beating it is very nice... 42,672 EXP... they appear in ones, 2's or 3's (42, 672 x 3 = 128,016 EXP!).

What makes them hard?

Yans have some annoying attacks like Comet, which can kill a single character in a single hit, and th eSnort attack, which will eject one characte rin battle (if hhey eject all your characters, it's Game Over).

So, what's the purpose of this thread? To help you beat them with the least sweat...

There are some attacks, which can kill them in only 2 hits and that's wha tI want to share with you:

Zidane - Thievery (powered up by stealing a lot)

Vivi - Doomsday (Be sure all your characters have an equipment that absorbs/nullifies Shadow damage)

Steiner - Darkside, Shock (Darkside costs HP, instead of MP)

Freya - Dragon Crest (powered up by killing lots of dragons)

Quina - Frog Drop (powered up by capturing lots of frogs)

Garnet - Atomos

For Amarant and Eiko - I can't find any good attack...

There, 2 attacks from any of those will kill them and will net you the precious EXP!

Anyone planning to do this make sure you have vaccines, as the Yans can use Virus Powder which stops you from getting exp. Kefkamania05

My tip is let 3 of your characters be infected with Virus  so the sole characte rtha tis not affected will get all the experience, thus, helping him/her teach L99 faster... That's what I'm doing.
