I was browsing through the Web for sheet music to FF when I stumbled across a site I couldn't imagine. It's called the Galbadia Hotel (alot of you have probably already heard of it) and for those who haven't, it allows users to download FREE sheet music and MP3s to almost any and all Anime/Video games. Unfortunately due to excessive bandwidth use, funding issues to meet the insane demands and download ques longer than the opening of Star Wars Episode 1, they were forced to remove the Final Fantasy mp3 section and limit it to a sheet music section only.
For all of you who are in love with the music of Uematsu (and the series in general) and would love to play piano like him allow me to share my findings with you.
As a side note to anyone looking to "improve on the music" (as if you actually could) I recommend downloading the freeware Finale Notepad sheet music creator. It is an awesome program that gives you a blank page of sheet music upon which you can place notes, rests, slurs, creschendos, etc. where you will AND you can playback the piece as you're working on it to check for accuracy and places of improvement.
PS The program requires a slightly more than adequate knowledge of being able to read and write sheet music.
(As of now I have: All in piano) (very partial list)
- Jesters of the Moon (Zorn and Thorn FF9) - Eternity (FFX-2 intro music) - To Zanarkand (FFX intro) - Nightmare in the Cave (Shuyin crazy piano FFX-2) - Piano prelude (the ascending and descending flow of notes that is in ALL FF games) - Aerith's Theme (I still get all teary-eyed listening to it) - The Overworld Theme (FF7)
* All of which I have found at the Galbadia Hotel*
It still doesn't beat me playing Those who fight further on guitar, but anyways www.nobuouematsu.com has sheet music for most instruments (and piano) but it only has limited songs.
