I'm not a fan of rock music. At times, I even hate to hear one especially the hard rock or metal type, but I think rock has made a good entry in the world of Final Fantasy.

Remeber the end boss theme of Finla Fantasy X? Yeah, i find it really cool and I wonder if there will be more rock music in the series.

some of its ok, i think the heavier songs are the downfall of Nobous composing ability. however ive never been partial to rock so its far to say my opinion is to biased.
i really like nobous compositions, id like to see some jazz entering somewhere hes touched it a few times ef Sight of Spira ( x) and Waltx for the Moon (VIII) but it like something a lil more jazzy.
neways FF music is very good i think.

Well i love to listen to Rock and Metal Music as well as other different Genres of Music. Rock Music in a game is Amazing but to put it into a Final Fantasy game, well, that would make it a much better game.

The End Boss for Final Fantasy X was not that enjoyable but with the Rock Music, well, that made the battle that much better. And if you remember, you also get the same Song/Tune at the Scene in Final Fantasy X when [Spoilers] Tidus is at Zanarkand, before he gets sucked up by Sin, and he is heading into the Blitzball Staduim before the Blitzball game which makes watching that scene much more enjoyable and i always seem to get Goosebumps everytime.

Rock Music is Amazing.

Yeah the otherworld theme is awesome. And the other rock theme i like a lot is the general boss battle music in FF7. Its got a great beat and somehow it suits the game cuz the game is a bit modern compared to other FF's imo

The Final Fantasy XII soundtrack is epic, but it is not versatile like some of the previous Final Fantasy OSTs. You had the combination of instrutmental hip-hop and jazz, electronica, rock, and 20th century instrumental. Sometimes a song would attempt to combine all four. But with Final Fantasy XII you pretty much just get the orchestral feel of a 20th century sound. I honestly thought that would be a good idea until I heard the soundtrack. So everythings sounds epic, but in some cases not as epic as you would think. I remember in Final Fantasy VII and VIII you definitely felt pumped up to fight a boss battle. Final Fantasy VII's boss battle theme use a composition to hard rock. With Final Fantasy VIII, the hard-electronica definitely made me want to kick some butt. Though Final Fantasy XII's boss battle isn't exciting enough. I honestly like the Dirge of Cerberus soundtrack better then this one. Hell, Counteroffensive from DoC could have made a better boss battle then what I heard in FFXII.

That's one thing I disliked about FFX, it was way too different from the other entrys in the series. But a little variation is nice sometimes.

Rock is awesome if you know who to listen to and how to appreciate it. Hard rock and metal pretty much suck. I'd like to see rock in it yes...

totally agree, I love rock and as far as I'm concerned FF needs a little more in it, even though I do like the music anyway, but hell yeah more rock won't hurt a thing may make it even better

ROFLOL you are all such muso NNOOOOOOOOBBBBSSSSSS, eriously 'it must be epic' as if rock music cant be

i tell you what rock and jazz encompasses all music that is not classical, renaissonse or avant garde. IMO rock, jazz and classical is mostly listenable to the degree where it will enhance the experience and not overwhelm or 'out noise' the game.

seriously imagine someone like eric dolphy or frank zappa (like, yes they are both quite quite dead) composing for FF. most people would sell their left nut for that

There's a lot of good rock tracks on the Advent Children soundtrack. The rock versions of Jenova, One Winged Angel and the FF7 boss music are all pretty catchy.

omg.... that is the biggest misconception ever about rock music. Everyone thinks it is this pots and pans-nails on a chalkboard type music and it's not. Rock gets it's reputation from hard bands and screaming-not-singing type music, but it's deeper than that....much deeper.

Yeah. I tend to generalize on this matter, but I sure know that there are these slow rocks and othe rrocks good to the ear.

When I made this topic, I based the idea of rock from that FFX Last Boss Music... So we should, for the purpose of this discussion, limit our notion of rock as to those kind of rock as depicted by FFX Last Boss battle. Therefore, with that in mind, the ONe-Winged Angel in Adven tChildren is not included in this topic. :P

^umm I don't know what the hell most of those are :P but I don't think this was about putting straight up rock music in FF that wouldnt work at all but maybe add some rock influence every now and then
