I really liked Valefor in FFX. It might have been because i constantly upgraded him, but he was always my best. He was the only one to seem like he really liked Yuna; it made me think of him as a pet more so than a weapon. And who wouldn't want a giant, awesome, colorful bird as a pet?

Odin from XIII becasue he fought alongside Light unlike any other summon who would fight for you. You would fight alongside ODin and then you would fight using Odin as a horse.

Agree completely but I also agree with Emil as far as X goes and I really can't deny that Bahamut is awesome just not my favorite. XIII Odin

He certainly is used frequently enough and I think he is generally recognized as a symbol of power.

I also think that Ifrit and Shiva are well represented in the FF name. I guess Odin too.

Those 4 do seem like the most frequent of the summons. I like the electric unicorn thing in X too, I forget its name though:P

For the summons that didnt show up in FFXIII they mentioned theyre names like for the name of a road like I think I saw Leviathan Highway in Eden.

I know that Ifrit had a cameo appearence and I know a few fal'cie had the same names as some summons. The Carbuncle fal'cie was in chapter 7 and there were Carbuncle dolls.

If you mean new summons then yes both Vanille and Sazh had new summons as compared to the other four that had been featured in previous games, if that wasn't what you meant then idk what you meant:P

I agree, new names can be nice, but Bahamut will never be old to me. I think Anima should be used as a Summon again besides FFXIII he was my next favorite summon.

Anima was awesome. I used her for everything after getting her. And when we had to fight her, I was so worried that she would be super hard. As Seymore's summon, she was a mighty foe. And forty times better than him. Both power wise and attractiveness wise. Man was he gross.

In XIII I liked Alexander. Mostly because I liked Hope and used him all the time.

In IV, Ragnarok was pretty nice because he taught you Ultima, which is always quite handy. I'd say he was my favourite in that one.

I love Shiva from FF X...that first entrance breaking free from the ice to the sound of her clicking her fingers and laying waste to her enemies.

The summons in Crisis Core were pretty awesome. Some of their best cinematic presentation imo. Both the Odin and the Cactuar are amazing.

I liked Yojimbo as well. He was like the fighting prostitute of the summons. You had to pay him to fight and all. I think he kind of looks like Gogo in VI.

That seems kind of odd that the character in the cast of playable characters that is arguably the lead out of the characters has Odin in both XIII and Type-0. I can't see Noctis having Odin as well but then again you never know.

I always saw Odin as the leader's summon. I only ever let Cloud use him in FFVII. He is the King of the Gods after all.

Odin really is a great and powerful symbol, I didn't care for Alexander all that much in XIII but that was mainly due to the fact that he was the only summon in the game that had like 0 mobility.

Alexander was the hardest summon for me to tame since my leader had to be Hope who had very low HP going against that monster of an Eidolon.

I agree if I were to summon in FFXIII then it would only be with my leader as if it even mattered who you summoned with since they all do about the same damage. The only difference is the attributes.

Hey there Fading! It's been a long time. Glad to see you here again. ;)

I also love Anima... Forgot to mention her.

Yojimbo is one tricky guy. Somehow, I manage to make him do Zanmato for 1 gil. xD Iirc, I did it 3 times.

The good thing though about summons in XIII is that they healed your party. I never used summons in VI. I feel as if they were most useful in X.

I agree completely that Yojimbo is without a doubt tricky. Anima is a girl!?! Either I'm getting confused with which summon that actually is or I'm not then, Anima is a girl!!!

I'm sorry but Anima does not look Female to me. Also that kinda makes more sense with your character that you made for that story that I said I would do but then it didn't happen. I get myself so busy on here but then life makes me even busier so I never get much done other than posting somewhat daily:P

See you learn something new everyday. XIII-2 will be interesting cause in a way any monster in the game that you can catch is kinda like a summon. Not exactly but still kinda:?

I still haven't played FFV all that much so I'm not really sure what exactly that means. I just hope it isn't too similar to pokemon but it seemed pretty different in the demo.

One class in FFV is the Trainer. It's special ability is to capture a Monsters. Then, he can use that monster in battle like a summon.

That sounds interesting, are they actually like summons or is it more like those abilities in mmos where you can capture a creature and either fight along side it or have it fight for you?

Nope. More of like summoning them (the old fashion way--like casting a spell), then you'll lose them.

That would make more sense I guess. I always find the varying player/creature type of characters to be interesting in combat and how exactly everything is explained on how that works...I think I'm just kinda rambling now sorry and I seem to be getting this kinda OT so I apologize for that;)

Well, he is the most experience KH gamer that is active there, and the fact that he is also an officer here, it gives me peace of mind that KHE would be in a better hand than me maanging theo perations there. ;)

BACK TO THE TOPIC:

Yeah. Odin is really classy... That's why  hated it when they made him a mere horse in FF13.Â
