Assuming Final Fantasy VII will be remake with the kind of engine used by SE in its PS3 Tech demo, and you only have $100 to spend for a PS3 game, which game would you choose: FF7 Remake or Final Fantasy XIII?

I would buy XIII, as it has a whole new world and characters, but I would buy VII as soon as i had the money.
And $100, how much are games in America?!
1. $100 thats well expensive, over here in the UK ps3 games roughly equate to about $85 i think, someone else figure it out...
2. If the did make a remake, id prefer an old school tactical battle system with less of the real time goin on...thtd b cool...
3. id buy FFVII
Most PS3 games I've seen in the US are $60, but some are $40.
I would get XIII first because it is the new game. Then, as bahamat0 said, I'd wait for the player reviews to see how the remake of VII would stack up to the original. If everyone is saying it's awesome, I'll get it soon. If it's just "meh", I'll wait until I can find a good used copy cheap.
FFXIII definitely. I am always looking forward to the new installments in FF series. The changes in gameplay, battle system, narrative style, setting etc.
I would mostly not get FFVII remake even it were to release. I wouldn't play something which I already have played (and have loved it so much) for the fear that the remake might spoil my opinion on the game. Plus I don't mind the Lego-block graphics of FFVII at all. :P
FFVII remake no question with the way the series has been headed i wish they made mor games like the earlier ones, quite frankly imo every game released after FFX has sucked.
FFVII with better graphics, actual voices to the characters, newer monster, secret areas, bosses, sidequests, etc and i would buy it no doubt.
After playing remakes of FFIII & IV, I don't see anything wrong with remakes. I love FFIV & to me, the remake just made it better. Better graphics, voice acting, cinematic presentation did the game justice. Can't wait to see how they do with the FFVI remake. As good as I think a FFVII remake would be, I'd go for FFXIII first since it's something brand spanking new.
Now in all reality, if I only had $100 & both games came out at the same time, I'm hitting somebody up for a loan, selling used games, maybe even a game I just recently bought, since I won't be playing it anytime soon. Might sell blood. I am going to get both of them at the same time, believe that, so I wouldn't even be in a postiion to worry about which one to get first.
First, I don't see FFVII being released as a remake by 2017.. Which is when the compilation of FFVII will end, therefore I will have to go with XIII.Â
Now if this was between Versus or XIII.. It would be a whole diff story..:PÂ
FF XIII. Graphics don't matter, in fact, IMO, it would be worse with next-gen graphics.billybobbarvis
I agree. If a game is absolutely amazing with a great plot, great characters, and just general great gameplay thendoes it really matter that much what it looks like?
Bring on FFXIII: I've been looking forward to a new FF game for a loooooooooooong time.

Good plan! By the time you got the money for a PS3 they'd both have been traded in by people who had completed them.
Over here in England, I'd be able to get them both for £60-ish, which is around $105 so I'd be set for getting them ^__^
yeah, I'm also saving for a ps3. i'm only have half of what i actually need. *cry*jstrifegot one for christmas booyah!!!

I would buy FFVII remake if they made the gameplay exactly or very similar to FFXII and the world as vast as FFXII...yea its a selfish thing to say but as you can see FFXII is my favorite game, with a better story tacked on it would be even better and i would love more games like FFXII. I honestly even wish they'd make an offline version of FFXI (which i played for about 2 years), it would be too good, i love the exploration and all that and obviously the story is a big part of the whole experience but the gameplay is just as important in an RPG.mack10
Hey kind of off topic, but I've been thinking about picking up Last Remnant. I saw on your gamercard you've played it, what did you think of it, or what would you compare it to?

Well the truth is, I never wanted a life of crime. Sometimes life thrusts you into situations that you don't necesarily want to be in, but it's sink or swim. So I learned to swim. I mean I'd like to get out, but I'm just in too deep now. I don't know anything else, and apparently my skills are evolving.

(Sigh) I can't imagine this is going to be easy. Lots of "break-throughs" I suppose and many tissues seem to be my future. But here goes: Hi my name is Doc_Mugger and I have a problem......
