What do you think of that idea? You think it is great?

I find it really interesting. Well, the idea is if they make a new Final Fantasy game, they will feature some elements of simulation like the one in The Sims... You can change your character's clothing (including acessory), your characters must sleep, your characters grow old, some dating and family-building simulation.

It will be great if your characters can engage in some livelihood, like raising livestock and or engaging in business or employment. Instead of killing monsters to earn money, why not make it more realistic. If you are lazy to take a job for your charcter, they will end up poor and cannot buy the latest equipment and accessory.

It is also interesting if your characters hava hygiene meters which will affect their chance in finidng their perfect mates... if they are dirty, they can end up being a good barbarian or pirate, etc. Also, if they haven't taken a bath for some days, NPC's will refuse to talk to them, avoid them, or even tell them wrong information, etc.

Just a wild idea...

Maybe, if you are lazy to work, you can end up making your character a thief... And as such, you can take items of other characters and there will be a crime level and if you have become a notorios thief, then maybe some authorities will start to chase and try to capture you (like in GTA series). :D

Sounds out of place. In a fantasy you don't want to have to worry about wether you'll be able to get enough money to feed your cows:P

A fantasy world is still influenced by real-life references and it would be fun to be able to do all kinds of crazy things.

It's a good idea but will properly be too much like the Sims, but if a FF game add some of those elements, it would really add something to the gameplay

the only elements i agree on are being able to change clothes(armour) and they should actually be seen during combats, walking,etc...........and it would be fun if you can like choose to kill everyone in a town and theyll have a karma bar which affects battle outcomes lol

I agree with the above post. FF isn't meant to be a realistic experience, rather an out-of-this-world one. But changing clothes and having a revenge type thing would be good.

I hear that man...FG the idea is intriguing but I think it would make it all too cumbersome, I mean hell its bad enough dealing with garment grids, sphere grids, freaking junctioning and any other crap they come up with to make leveling a living hell the last thing I need is another headache

I think it will be more applicable to an online Final Fantasy. I like the crazy idea that you can do something more than just battles and missions.

I think, if anything, Square should team up with EA to make an expansion pack for the Sims where your Sim could become a character and you could have it leave on short quests sometimes.  When they returned the treasure could be sold for money or used as decoration.  There would be other additions too.  Sort of like their new business expansion where you can build a Sims proficiency with certain tasks by doing them they would build their skill proficiencies in things like spellcasting by doing them.  I dunno, I had that idea for the Sims a long while ago and still hope they do something like it.

As to changing the appearance of characters, only if it were purely aesthetic.  Often in Oblivion I've had to sacrifice aesthetics for the sake of better defense.  So, I wouldn't necessarily want the armor affecting appearance, but if you could just buy optional outfits for your characters to run around in, that would be kinda cool...  Though it would get messy with the cinematics....  Maybe just a cosplay area?  You know, for fun.  Your characters go in, dress up, and then do a little story thing, like the play in Final Fantasy VII where you choose the lines.

lol i just realized that until SE stop using CG cutscenes its impossible to have clothing to change, or else it totaly mess up the appearance lol.......anyways to me final fantasy is just about telling a story, a very good compelling story!!!!sometimes i feel like reading a novel when i play it....

that doesn't sound like something youd get added on to a FF game, rather something youd get in a sims game expansion pack......which would be a good thing

if you made the topic "would this be a good idea" id have to ask you how it would be implented....

sounds very online'ish.
but i usually think stuff like that over complicates the games. the characters can never be as cool if they have to do the stuff we do. eg wash poop and wear shorts on freezing cold mountainS!

OK I haven't even read this whole thing i know it's bad from the first sentence. EA is evil and will just slaughter it. Sounds to much like an mmoRPG. They dont need to complete a bunch of quests for heck new cloths. Althought the armour should have been seen already. I really want to see how someone would look with a giant sword on their back.

I could see some of those elements being implemented into the online versions of FF, but as part of the main series so to speak I don't think it'd be a good thing for the series.

That's why it should only be implemented in online FFs. I myself love the current format of FFs which is like a storybook where everything is fixed.

seems like a more "make your own character" game than an FF game.FF games are different.

so..... online is individuality>storyline, if thats what you have to choose i would rather no real life elements except a change of clothes... real basic skin stuff
