We know the Wii will not be able to handle Final Fantasy XIII or Versus XIII (without seriously downgrading the graphics), but what do you think about the possibility of Wii getting FFXIII? Square has just revealed the existence of "Crystal Tools", which, although not yet fully compatible with the Wii, may be the way for FFXIII to reach Nintendo's system?
I think that they should stick to teh Sony game consoles for FF games, except for remakes and the Crystal Chronicles branch. I was glad to see that they are making FF XII a PS3 exclusive even though I don't own a PS3.
I agree with GameFreak. I think FF really hit it's stride when it came over to the PS1. Not to say that the NES & SNES games were over looked but alot of people who got into the series started with FFVII or X, unless you're old with old school taste like myself who started with the original FFI. RPG's really started getting a lot of attention when FFVII came out. And Sony became a hell of a RPG provider, so I do agree that the main series should stay with Sony. I myself do not own a PS3 also, but definitely waiting for FFXIII to give me a reason to get one if I don't already have it by then.
As far as the Wii getting a port of FFXIII....not happening. The article focus was more on the Crystal Tools engine being able to port games much easier between the systems than saying that FFXIII will be ported. It could be but I doubt it would be. I'd almost bet on it. I believe it was more geared towards future games & not particularly FFXIII. The only scenerio I could see happening is that maybe after a year or two, SE decides to port it over to the 360, after all the hardcore FF fans got there copy & helping Sony sell more systems in the process. And the chance of that happening is slim to none.
Besides the graghics of the WII, I don't think the Wii can handle FFXlll. Just think of all the magic there is and how you have to move the Wii remote. It wouldn't be easy learning them all especially if your me:? FFXlll is better off being on the PS3 for 3 reasons, the graphics, it'll be easier to play, and I bet it'll be more fun.
I'd like to see the main series stick to the PlayStation 3. Personally I don't really see the point in any of the games going to the Wii, because they would just be the same as they would have been on the PS3 except with worse graphics. I'm not insulting the Wii but aside from first-party Nintendo games I would rather have EVERYTHING else on Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, especially because Nintendo is really the only company that actually makes decent games for their systems anyways, and that actually use the controller properly. Everything else on the Wii is just a dumbed-down 360/PS3 game or a PS2 port.
I love the Wii and if you say you hate it, you must not have played it yet :P But, at the same time, I'd like to see the main FF Series stay with the PS3. You expect each game in the series to get bigger and more beautiful and I don't think the Wii could handle XIII. And with the controller, I don't see how motion controls would really help. Flick you wrist like this to cast Fire and like that to cast Blizzard and wave it madly in all directions until you hurt to cast Ultima...I don't think so. Games like Crystal Chronicles and similar are great for it, but the main series should stay on the PS3.
Nah, I don't hate the Wii at all, I actually want to get one (along with the other two systems, I'm a manticore :P)
But in general I'd prefer non-nintendo games to stick to PC/Xbox 360/PS3 for the reasons I've already stated. First party Nintendo games usually rock, third party ones... not so much.
it will not be on the wii, the crystal tools is their engine for making games now. They are going to make a different game on the wii, and i hope it will be a new game, not an ff/kh spin off
I have and hate the Wii,id love FFXIII to come to Xbox360 as my PS3 died,ill have a new one soon but i dont trust sony anymore,its like PS2 all over again.
HEY EVERYONE OK SO FAR I FOUND THE DATE OF WITCH FF13 SHOULD BE COMING OUT AND IT IS BUT IT COULD BE VERY WRONG BUT MANY THINGS HAVE SAID {FinalFantasy XIII [Release Dt:12/15/08} but please don't take my word for it and get mad if its wrong but this is what i heard so im shareing it wil you guys.
Final Fantasy should never ever ever multiplat. Keep it to one system. It will take so much quality from the game making it for more than one system. Really, all of the truly great games are for just one system. I have heard rumors about a 360 version of XIII. I hope with all my soul not.
That's a horrible idea. Not only would it be an EXTREME downgrade, how would you play it with the numbchuck bullcrap the Wii has? Not only that, I don't think the Wii deserves any Final Fantasy game because it's just that sh!t (yes, I do hate the Wii).
Another bad idea is putting it on the 360. As a matter of fact, it's horrible if it doesn't stay exclusive, since that's what Sony needs, exclusive titles: reasons to purchase a PS3. So there is no way in hell it's going to go on any other platform, Sony will just pay too much to keep it exclusive.
^ What's wrong with putting FF on the Wii? FF has been on Nintendo systems multiple times before. Spin-off titles like Crystal Chronivles ect. would be a good idea.

CC is basiacly the nintendo ff series. i hope ff stays on ps3, because then sony will be more popular, and more games will be made for that instead of xbox
Your right their was no need for that but FFCC should only stay on the wii but they should keep the other ones with sony and besides FFCC is good for the younger kids so they can get into the hole Final Fantasy thing then move on into the harder ones such as the newer ones, XII or the upcoming XIII.
I wouldn't mind seeing FFXIII on Xbox360, but as for the Wii I think FFXIII's just not well-suited for the Wii and vice versa. The Wii is a great system and FFXII is obviously going to be a great game but the two just don't fit together. I like analogies so I'd say it this way: The big, knobby, off-road tires I put on my Jeep are really great tires... on the Jeep. But if I tried to put them on my motorcycle it would just be all kinds of wrong.
After playing Dragon Quest Swords for the Wii, I really think that a game as epic as FFXIII would be absolutely neutered on the Wii. Now, I wouldn't mind seeing something along the lines of a Tactics game for Wii- that would be right up it's alley.
