From Mist Knack to Quickening (FFXII Limit)

Hah! It's an ugly and lame name! Mist Knack from the JP version could have been an acceptable name for a limit, but Quickening? No. Anyway, that'll be the official English name of FFXII limit.

I think they used such translation to describe how you use the limits. You must be quick so you will have more combos. :P

Mist Knacks arent that usefull always,some monsters are imune to it. In some situation you can only use it on bosses as a desperation attempt. If your lucky you can chain more than 50 times but that is very rare.Orasion_Seiz

so FFXII does definitely have limit break type attacks then.? since the game leaked i have heard rumours that there is no such attacks in the game. can someone clear this up for me.

Its the limit break in FFXII. Every character can do it and it has some very nice looking animation when performed :)
