i don't know..........it'd be great if they could meld both into one super thing. like the shpere grid deals with the development of the characters, and the materia for the development for equipment and magic or somethin like thatFenrirMM

though we're all kinda sittin here saying which is better....you gotta think too, both were used for completely different things.
the grid was for the actual development of your characters, materia was used for magic, and enhancements, like counter and HP boosts, stuff like that, so really to put the two against each other is kinda dumb...

i filled it all and although it was hard as hell to understand at first, once i picked it up i loved it, nest leveling system of any game

LOL it took me 6 months to beat it, at the time i had just broken up with my girlfriend so i had nothing to do so i figured f*ck it, i'm gonna max these guys out
