Been there...done that...have the Godslayer Badge...it is worth it...(Sky Pirate Den emblem/good rewards from Montblanc/key item for strongest weapon in game). It only took me a meager 9 hours to do too.
I defeated that *****. It was a huge pain, and by the time I was able to defeat him, there wasn't really a point to getting the strongest sword. There wasn't anything left for me to kill.
