If a remake of FFVII was true, which would you prefer...

Who knows maybe it could end up as remake on the DS or PSP. Seeing that Square is making remakes of the classic FF games on those two. I would be surprice though if that were to happend. I would prefer another animated movie like Advent Children.

Well, in my point of view, I haven't seen any game SquareEnix (Not Squaresoft) made that was half as good as FF7. So if they want to make a remake, they need to invest time on the game more than any other game they did if they don't want to ruin its name.

But if they SOMEHOW successfully remake the game as good as or even better than the current FF7, then I will surely get it on PS3, even if it were to be released in 2014. Sometimes I've been wishing if Crisis Core would have a PS2/PS3 version :P

I don't care what they do right now. Before Crisis, Final Fantasy VII is still in hiadus like the rest of the Compilation right now. And they still left us hanging with the Genesis character in Dirge of Cerberus. A Final Fantasy VII remake? I haven't thought about it in a long time. I don't care what platform it comes to; I'll buy it.

What's the point of remaking a 10-year old game, if you're only going to improve the graphics by a little ?

They might as well if they do FF7, FF8 was pretty much complete so no sequals for that game just a remake good enough for me.

I TOTALLY agree with a remake of FFVIII.That game had everything (IMO) but just lacked the voice-overs.

I've been around a lot of forums where FFVII remakes run a mock. People have a vast amount of opinions on the subject. Some don't want a remake, some do. Some don't care about graphics, some do. Some want it yesterday, some could wait forever, long as it's a good remake. So let's say Squenix IS making a remake right now. They announce that it's in the works and for some odd reason, they actually care about public opinion & say, they can make it on the PSP with Crisis Core/Dissidia graphics & have it out by the year 2010 or they can make it on the PS3 with the tech demo graphic but have it out by 2012. Which would you prefer to happen. Or would you protest & demand they leave FFVII the way it is?CMakaCreative

Owning a 360 this gen, I would prefer it on PSP even though I dont hav one, it would be awesome portable and since I broke my DS, this along with Crisis Core, dissidia and its own version of XIII would persuade me to get a PSP, plus 2012 is too late IMOFlipyap28

Right after I beat Crsis Core and the very last cutscene where it shows Cloud on the train like it's about to begin FF7 I really wanted nothing more than to continue the story right there on the PSP with the same gameplay and everything only have Cloud as the main character now instead. I thought that would have been awesome..but if I can only choose one or the other..then I would choose the one for the PS3.

I really want to try Crisis Core, I need a PSP as I am too bored of I-VI, can I ask something?

The tech demo and the "secret" (I dunno why they call it secret) ending to Crisis Core are two different things, very similar but they are different.

Also I was thinking the same thing about Enix having to change things in FF7 to meet this generations standards. I'm sure that hardcore fans would be fine with everything as it is just with updated graphics..but to please everyone I was thinking they may have to change it a bit. Do you think they would change some of the dialougue and stuff like that? But all in all keeping it's meaning intact so it would go along with the original story and all. Or do you mean by changing things, like putting a bunch of extras and stuff in the game..which I'm sure they would do anyway.

I meant that Square Enix would have to add a load of content such as quests, change dungeon layouts. I am basically saying that they would have to add a lot of new features and yes, I also think that dialogue does need to change because of voice acting, remember some parts dont have much dialogue and relied on little body actions.
