Is FFXI worth $15/month?

Actually it is $12.95 a month. You get the PlayOnline client which includes email and a few other features(which is free). Right now I am playing World of Warcraft and I am enjoying it. I came from Final Fantasy XI, Asheron's Call, and Everquest as well. To tell you truth if you are looking for a more group oriented MMORPG, non-role playing community, and Final Fantasy then you will definitely want to pick this up. The licenses is used well, surprisingly since it's a MMO(unlike Star Wars Galaxies which basically is a huge let down, and you don't even have to play it to know that).

I play World of Warcraft which is really awesome. Yet the one thing I miss is the constant grouping you see in EQ and FFXI. Then again, if you are use to just playing by yourself then FFXI isn't for you. You can solo at low(really low) levels, but after that enemies will become to powerful to fight on your own. So basically you're force into that situation. The good thing about it is that you always know what to do next because you're always talking to people. As with World of Warcraft I notice that everyone is doing their own thing, and they group up with others if they need to(most of the time for phat loot, not for fellowship).

So if you are looking to play with others in a Final Fantasy world, FFXI is up your alley.

I will wait for the cost to decrease , then I will play all of FFXI games .

Hence I can't let any FF to leave my collection . :)

Final Fantasy XI was pretty cool to me.  But, there's massive punishments for dying which they didn't have to go that far on.  Dying at lvl 18 (the lvl i stopped at) will make you lose 6-10 hours of leveling which blows.  And the higher your lvl gets the harder it is to lvl up.  I still wanna play it again but, my registration codes don't work anymore for some reason and i don't know if it's worth buying again just to play it.  I probably will though after the new expansion comes out becuase i have an ongoing desire to play it again. I'll probably start playing it again sometime in may. Rongaryen
