Well there are some FF games, some including Tactics, IV, V, and many more, that have ported to the Gameboy Advance. That's great and all, but is that the best choice? Or do you stick with a different one? Please name examples of where one is better than the other.

I guess I don't know much about this, but the gameboy advance versions should be better for games like IV, V, and VI due to added bonus dungeons and other features.

I don't think Tactics was ever ported to the GBA. Are you talking about Tactics Advanced? I think its only the best way to go if you are looking for bonus content that isn't in the original game or arnt a fan of the DS versions that had a graphics overhaul.

FF1 and 2 - the PSP version is undeniably the best version.

FF3 - well, since the original version is in the NES, while the other version is in the DS and in 3D. The NES version is only released in Japan.

FF4 - If you want 3D, get DS version. Otherwise, get the GBA version for added content, unless you prefer to see some FMVs... then get the PS1 version.

FF5 - Get the GBA version for added content, unless you want to see some FMVs... then get the PS1 version.

FF6 - same.

FF7 - wait for the PS3 version. j/k! Get the PC version for one with fixed translation, but you have to download several patches if you are using Windows XP and up.

FF8 - I think you should get the PC version so you can play Chocobo World (although it is not a big loss if you will not play it) without the need for Pocketstation.

FF9 - oh, i forgot. you're only talking about FFs released in GBA. that's Ff1-6 only less 3.

Tactics is pretty much the same as WOTL. Tactics advanced is a completely different game.

Well as I don't have a PSP, should I get I & II for the GBA, or PS?

I think for FF1-6 it depends, the PS versions have one FMV sequence for it's titles and the GBA ones have extra dungeons and you can play them on the move, so, take your pick from the advantages these provide :)

I'd say GBA, as they have more content overall.

Basically, your choices is between the GBA and PS1 versions.

GBA = more content (dungeon = bosses/items)

PS1 = some FMVs.

i'm never sure about the ds versions. Somehow i don't like the idea of going from sprite to 3d to sprite because it will make me appreciate 5 and 6 less if 3 and 4 were in 3d.

I'd say the best way to go is the PSP. And the GBA is dead anyway.

Since you lack a PSP, go with the GBA, they have the bonus dungeons and, best of all, are portable. Also you can probably get the cartridges for pretty cheap off eBay. Here is a recommened play order when/if you get them: FFVI, FFIV, FFV, FFI, FFII, that's from best to worst by the way. If you'd rather do it the other way around, go ahead.

Is this even FYI? Or are you just asking opinions?

Definitely the GBA versions. FMA's arn't worth missing out on bonus content..Not to mention you can always watch the FMA's elsewhere.
