That, and it would be impossible to kick the ball any further than a foot underwater in real-life, beacuse real-life has to suck and have a bunch of laws of physics.

It might be a good idea but as the previous posters said, it has lots of drawbacks, such as breathing issues, and the fact that the ball can't be kicked or thrown over long distances due to some laws of physics.

I have a similar idea though, but can anyone help me with finding out the name of that activty? It's when they put u in a room or chamber and they open a large fan beneath your feat which makes u float in the air. So seeing a group of people swimming in the air to fetch the ball and throw it around might seem interesting to some people :P

Cylinders can give weight to the players, making it harder to play, AND of course if something happens to the cylinder, that's gonna be yet another problem :P

Blitz Ball in real life may be hard to pull off but it sure would be neat to watch. With ragards to their air that's an easy problem to solve all players would have to is learn how to dive without o2 tanks. But even with o2 tanks it still would be interesting to watch.

How about creating a dome with anti-gravity rather than a dome filled with water? It works in the same way,we could use visual effects for the water. But then again, the ball would hardly move properly without gravity and who can achieve a proper kick without gravity?

I can't really swim, so I voted no :P

And as others have stated, just too hard to create IRL... although Quidditch doesn't seem like it would have the same punch without actually being able to fly, so maybe making a flawed version of the game satisfies some people

Well since in the real world, we can't breath underwater it wouldn't be a good idea. Still I voted yes because I would love to play blitzball if it was possible

Thats the problem with FFX, humans for some reason can breath underwater, are they evolved?

I'm pretty sure they can't breath underwater because if they could then they should be able to talk to then. If you've played all of FF10 then you know that there is an underwater scene where Waka try's to say something but it gets muffled by the water. On top of that each match lasts 10mins with the match divided into 5min halfs. If someone were to make a real life blitz ball couldn't they make a large dome like the ones they use for dolphins, killer wales and alike?

I believe that one of the Besaid Aurochs talks about blitzers being able to hold their breath for a long time and not breating underwater. So my guess is in Spira you can train your body to go without oxygen for 5 minutes or so

Not exactly. If you were to think about it for a moment. We humans have been able to put a man on the moon, make a space station right above earth, made various instroments of death and have made advancments in science that have help better the popluation as a whole. So I doubt very much that we wouldn't be able to find some way to play a game of real life blitz ball. It's just a question of how we could do it with what we have available to us now. Here's how I think that it could be done. Take one massive tank of water like say the ones they use for dolphins, killer wales and alike. Take four hockey nets, weld two together to make on net and repeat this process for the other net. Place one at each end of the tank and ancor them to the tank walls so that that they don't float around too much. Take 12 divers that know how to dive without O2 tanks, train them to hold their breath for 5mins and 30secs at a time, add a ball and you've got Blitz ball. However there is a simpler way. Take one long big ass pool, two hockey nets and place them at each end of the pool. Then take 12 people, add a ball and you've got a dumbed down version of blitz ball.

Once they start perfecting nano technology, holding your breathe for 5 minutes will become childs play. It will also be banned from every other sport except blitzball.

Isn't that what water polo is? Except with less people.

no. instead they should make a blitzball player manager game and you go around the world explorin and entering tournaments whilst recruiting players and you have proper contracts and stuff. but it has to be 3d explorin was discussin this on another union
