I voted for summons because they are basically more important to the history than the other options and they are my favorite too.

I also went summoners, they are more useful in the story and in battle than the other options.

Though summons are obviously awesome and a key series staple, I actually went for Chocobos. In each game, finding Chocobos and exploring the map with them is one of my favourite things to do. Not only is it fun, but it's a clear reminder that the game I'm playing is true Final Fantasy. They looked amazing in XIII and they were one of the few staples that game retained.

The "Two World's" paradigm is another series staple that I like to see in FF games. Often the world experiences some kind of drastic change at around the halfway point, or there turns-out to be a whole other planetary body involved. In the old days, this was probably an excuse to save memory by recycling locales with a pallet swap...but it's been incorporated into the plot's in interesting and creative ways.

the Cids are interesting to me, in FFVI, he was a airship genius that helped ya out, because in FFX, Cid is my love's father, in FFXII, Cid was a smooth playa, and in FFXIII, he was a crazy, psychotic maniac, so its interesting to see the different Cids in the FF universe

I would say Cid was psychotic in XII and smooth in XIII, but anyway. Cid in VI is a magitek researcher who takes care of Celes after the fall. He was an airship genius in II,V and VII. Your loves father also turned Zanarkand into a tourist attraction in X-2.

Even with all his power, Raines was a cool customer but Balthier's pop was out to lunch. On the Zanakand note, Eternal Calms probably aren't good for business, but one bad look from Yuna was enough for Cid to leave everything in Isaaru's hands.

Bro you should play through the game again. I felt like Cid Raines was a hero, just caught on the wronge side. There is no good or evil just different perspectives. If we followed Cid from his beginning, I'm sure you would see him as a hero. He fights the party to protect cocoon, and his way of life. HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS. He wanted to save cocoon from the L'cie and yes he knew they were good but at the same time he had no choice.

Moogles are awesome and I always hate when they're left out like they were in XIII, but I'm pretty sure that Mog's voice is going to drive my crazy in XIII-2. Kupo is a word that's fine to read or when presented as a simple sound effect like it was in older games, but I'm not looking forward to hearing "Kupo, kupo, kupo..." all the time while we're exploring the game world.

Yeah. That's true. I was at lost in wonder why SE did not put moogles in FF13.

I agree with you about Cid squall. Too bad he ended up as a fal'Cie puppet after the main party defeated him. It would be interesting if we could find out more on him with the whole time travel function in XIII-2 but I kinda doubt it. Also, I can't wait to spend some quality time with Mog kupo!

He was revived from crystal stasis by Barthandelus to be the new primarch and was taken-out by his former team, the cavalry.

Thats true but I wouldn't be surprised if he somehow came back but then again death is different from crystal stasis and he did basically fulfill his purpose in XIII.

Sad end to a great character. On the other hand, Square is almost obligated to bring him back in some form for XIII-2. That or introduce a whole new Cid.

so you fight cid raines and then he turns into crystal and he comes back after that?  I don't remember that part. pretty sure you only fight him once.

You only fight him once but then he is brought out of his crystal stasis to be the new primarch and he is then taken out by the cavalry. That part happened in cutscene in the beginning of Chapter 12 when the L'Cie interupt the race upon returning from Gran Pulse.

Surprisingly the only time I actually had trouble against him was in my most recent playthrough which I didn't understand why it was that way when I already did it two or three times with no problem and my stats shouldn't have been all that different.

Dahaka is a tough one, but they had to do that cuz the player has the opportunity to complete missions and level-up on Pulse before meeting him. Vanille's Eidolon Hecatoncheir is also particularly tough.

Truly when I got to him I knew nothing about building a chain guage or how to I just played through the game as if it was a walk through the park. So I just thought I wasnt powerful enough and trained in the valleys of Gran Pulse. But later on, I got strong, very strong, and I started learning more about building chain guages. By then it had been nearly my entire summer vacation until I beat him.

On my first playthrough, I got destroyed when I first fought Dahaka. I was wandering Pulse and kind of got there by fluke. After a few tries I realised I had no hope and went back to grind and complete every mission I could before the fight. By the time I got back, my team wiped the floor with him.

I must admit, Dahaka's Divual Plague nearly done me in that final battle I had with. I'll never forget that day when he used that move and completely wiped out Lightning and Hope, and Snow my leader with 4000 HP, had 30 HP in the end, but I lived.

Snow is my main leader as well. He isn't quite as strong as Fang, but he CANNOT be killed. His massive HP combined with mastery of the Sentinel role means he can withstand pretty much any attack. And in that game, as long as your leader lives you're still good. Sovereign Fist can really do em in too when timed right.

I personally used Lightning as my lead but that was more so because I'm kinda obsessed with her and I can't have a sentinel as my lead/who I'm playing as. I get very very bored in that role, you are right though that Snow is uber awesome in that role. That was one nice thing that I liked in playing XIII-2 is that either Noel or Serah has to survive and not necessarily who you are controlling at the moment.

Yeah I wish you had control of all characters like the other Fantasys but I think that the changes in FFXIII-2 made up for that.

Unfortunately there isn't any kind of achievement for obtaining monsters or anything close to gotta catch em all, but that would be funny. I agree that I liked controling the whole party but I will say that controlling one person is less stressful and the paradigm system doesn somewhat make up for the lack of total control.
