You know that this is off topic but it's the weekends so i guess its okay.

I havent tried upgrading to Vista yet, i heard some complaints about it. I'll do more research on it and maybe a few months i'll upgrade.

I have it and some of the features are nice, I just think the main problem is the security settings being a little wonky (you wouldn't believe how long it took me to figure out wtf I needed to turn off to d/l iTunes ._.) and many companies not being up-to-date with it causing in some cases a lack of virus protection in part(which kinda killed my comp for a bit). Now that I've got the security settigns(almost) how I want them it's fine there and in due time everybody'll be up to date with it and then I'll have no complaints.

The design is cool, and some of the new functions are nice, but the Cancel/Allow security drives me crazy,

Final Fantasy with DirectX 10 would kill any console right now with a beefy video card. DirectX 10 in Vista will have new possiblities and graphical features not seen on the consoles. With Square Enix adobting the Unreal Engine I am praying that they can get back into the PC arena other then creating MMORPG(which I am looking forward to this next one).

Just how much memory does Vista take up, 'cos with XP at the mo i've just got everything running nicely... i know that one of these days Microshaft will release an update for XP that beggers it so people have to get Vista, but i'll have to get a new laptop (which i can't afford) plus all the bugs with a new OS, i could do without them.
I really dont like the idea of an OS thats soo cpu intensive, they make out it's for gamers but running Vista and a game is gonna kill an average computer, lol. too many shiney graphics it's made for people who just use word and the internet... i doubt 3ds max would run any good on Vista and that'd screw up my work

the interface plus msn firefox and Itunes take up about 800-900mg of my DDRII Ram.

which is pretty costly.

but the thing is XP only supports a maximum of 2gb DDRII Ram. where as vista cna support 16.

i have 4gb ddrii ram atm and quaq 3ghz amd's. so it runs easily on my machine.

but i think all the features of vista are fantastic so far its been more then a satisfactory OS for me and i will happily reccomend it to anyone looking to change from their current system.
