Tidus is an alright character i just don't think square did a very good job of giving him the right personality in some cutscenes. And yes i do think Tidus likes pie
hes indeed anoin fun but he is a whole other main character in the ff series look to cloud firion squall that are macho man in my eyes but tidus is in my eyes a big crybaby, but thats a thing i like in ffx a different main character.
and i know why they always call him son of jacht and the blitz bal player cause you can give him a name you want and the technology cant make speak out the name we can give to the characters.
i like tidus as a character, i just dont think hes a very good character in general.
like so many have pointed out he is an annoying crybaby, and i also think that his story isnt depressing enough. most of square's other characters have a really sad story, but his is just like your not real so get over it
from what I have seen of Tidus, compared to the other FF protagonists, even those from like FF I and the other old school versions, is that he is the most annoying and ghetto one of them all. I can kinda see why ppl might think of that as OK but, well, at least not for me. I was glad that they made an all-female game with FF X-2 coz he wasn't there ^^.
He's a bit annoying. Simply because he's immature and a tad obnoxious at times. I enjoy "mature" protagonists far more. Squall and Cloud were awesome. I liked Zidane, mainly because even though he was "charismatic" he was also quite light-hearted, yet focused on the goal. He also showed a lot of heart. Tidus was sort of a hybrid between Zidane and Cloud. He had the light-hearted, quirky, fun-loving temperament; however, he also is serious when he wants to. I sort of felt like Tidus was a bit cocky. More so than the other FF protagonists.
By the look of FFXII's male protagonist I hope we aren't subjected to another Tidus-like character. I'd much rather see a slightly more serious version of Zidane in the central role. Especially, if he has well reaonsed ethics.
