WEAPONS. We're not talking about swords here, nor are we talking about spears. We're talking about giant, robot-like, extra-hard, and usually optional enemies in the realm of Final Fantatasy.
I know you've, at least, heard of them in the past. Some may even have beaten all of them. You ask me? I have beaten all, except the FFXI ones. So far, I can say that the hardest one is Omega of Chocobo's Dungeon 2. I can say that I've mastered beating some of them, especially Ruby and Emerald Weapons (FFVII).
Anyway, this article is about them. I'll give you some information about these guys, maybe throw one or two tips in fighting them, and, of course, show you some nice pics!
Final Fantasy V
Omega
Level: 119 HP: 55, 530
Final Fantasy V is where the famous optional boss feauture of the series was first introduced. Among the optional bosses you will meet in the FFV world is this four-legged metal fiend, Omega.
You will find him walking back and forth in the waterfall area in the Cleft Dimension. Although, he looks plain, he is one tough guy to beat. If you haven't read any boss guide regarding him, you will SURELY die in your first attempt. He is almost invincible. He's only weakness is 'Bolt3', but it's hard to abuse it 'coz he is very fast and he loves to use hard-hitting multi-target attacks... Not to mention that he is in an 'auti-reflect' status that cannot be dispelled.
It is also nice to note that he is the highest leveled being the it the world of Final Fantasy, so far.
Final Fantasy VI
Atma Weapon (Ultima Weapon in Japan)
HP: 24, 000
Atma Weapon is a regular boss you will encounter in the Floating Continent. He loves using the multi-target spell 'Quake' and 'Flare'. Just equip your party with 'Cherub Downs' and you'll be safe.
Atma (Ultima Buster in Japan)
HP: 24,000
Brother to Atma Weapon, Atma, also known as Ultima Buster, is quite powerful. He is also very fast! Like his brother, he loves using the 'Quake' spell. 'Cherub Downs' are your best friends against him. You'll be better off with physicalattacks, but spells like 'Meteor' and 'Demi' are also helpgul in depleting his HP.
Final Fantasy VII
Sapphire Weapon
This is the guy who attacked Junon. Unfortunately, we were not able ot fight him 'coz he is so weak he was killed by a single face to face shot with the Sister Ray.
Diamond Weapon
HP: 50, 000
This big brute is impervious to physical attacks. However, once his used his 'Diamond Flash' attack, you'll be able to damage him with your regular attacks and limit, bu such change will not be revealed to you.
He is my favorite FF Weapon overall... In terms of physical features.
Ultimate Weapon
HP [1st fight]: 18, 000 ;Â HP [ultimate weapon quest] : 100, 000
This time, Ultima Weapon took the role of a flying creature that loves to escape from battles, just like the DoomGaze battle in FFVI. He still stands on four, but has arms now.
He will be found hovering above the lake near Junon town once you have beaten Diamond Weapon. Once you've beaten him, you'll acquire Cloud's ultimate weapon.
Ruby Weapon
HP: A little > 779, 922 (6x KoR doing 9999 damage per hit)
Just after beating Ultimate Weapon, this guy's claw will be found protruding in the desert sand around Gold Saucer/Corel Prison. Ride your chocobo or the Highwind to initiate the battle.
He is my favorite FFVII WEapon... Battle-wise.
Emerald Weapon
HP: A little > 909, 909(7x KoR doing 9999 damage per hit)
Once you have your own submarine, you can try wondering underwater and find this big chunk of emerald swimming. Bump your submarine against it to initiate the battle.
Chocobo Weapon
The most powerful weapon boss in Final Fantasy VII. After beating all the other weapons, this monster may be seen randomly standing at one of the several Chocobo Tracks in the world with a chance of 1/7777th.
Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII:
Jade Weapon
Featured in the new "WEAPON Mode" of the game. No information was divulged except that isabout 200 meters in length.
Final Fantasy VIII
Ultima Weapon
Found in the Deep Water Research dungeon. Don't forget to draw the Eden GF from him.
It's nice to note that he actually uses a sword very similar to Cloud's (FFVII) Ultima Weapon.
Omega Weapon
Optional boss found in U'timecia's Castle. Beat him to get the "Proof of Omega".
Final Fantasy IX
[Sadly, no Weapon boss was featured in Final Fantasy IX]
Final Fantasy X

The lord of Omega Ruins optional dungeon.
Ultima Buster

Omega Weapon

A mere random enemy.

A super Weapon found in the lowest level of the Via Infinito optional dungeon in Bevelle. Beating him will not end the fight 'coz you'll immediately fight good 'ol Trema without the opportunity to rest.
Final Fantasy XI
