Toughest competitor of FFXIII (PS3, 360)?

I honestly doubt the asian market will affect much.

Modern Warfare 2 has sold 5M copies on its first day. That's half of what FFVII, the series' most popular game, has sold in its lifetime.

Unfortunately, I'm not an FPS fan... The only FPS I have finished in the first Modern Warfare. 

There's no way there will be new Uncharted and Assassin's Creed games next year. It took them two years to make the sequels, it would probably take two more to make a third. Also I'm pretty sure a new Call of Duty comes out every year. Call of Duty 7 will be ready next year because it's made by Treyarch, not Infinity Ward and they've been working on it since the release of CoD: W@W, so it might be some competition.

I think that FFXIII's biggest competition will be the games that come out in the same month as it, or GT5 and GoWIII.

Both FFXIII and GoWIII has built up so much anticipation in many fans because of their prolonged release. :P

That's my total number of platinums, from LittleBigPlanet and Uncharted 1, I'm still working on the DA:O platinum.

DA takes sooo long to Platinum. I just started a new file, because none of my other 3 characters have explored the whole world, which is required to unlock the Traveler trophy. :x:xGamer4Iife

Gran Turismo is the fourteenth best selling video game franchise. It's huge in Europe. GT3 is the twelfth best-selling console game of all time. GT5 will be huge.

Even so, Final Fantasy is rated sixth in the best selling video game franchises, but GT5 will be huge competition for it

just to prove fffan's point, the GT5 Prolouge is the most sold game on the PS3, I'm going to be amazed if the actual game doesn't sell at least twice more.

If we're talking genre wise, for the xbox 360, it will be Mass Effect 2, although FF will still eclipse it in sales.
PS3... umm... maybe White Knight Chronicles (from dev's of Dark Cloud and Dark Chronicle (Dark cloud 2 if ur NA), personally cant wait for this (WKC).

Talking any genre wise, Early 10' has big hits like Bioshock 2 (omg!), Battlefield: Bad company 2, Ghost recon 4, Dead Rising 2, God of War III, Metal gear rising (omg!) and there are plently more, first half of 10' looks f'ing wicked.

Whether it is, I know not, but I do know that it has sold more than Forza 2 and it's just a demo, so that definitely says something about the series.

Edit: Just looked it up, and it is in fact the best-selling game on PS3.
