I would have to cast my vote for Aerith's death in FF VII, seeing as that was the first RPG i plaed and got me hooked! :Dsilverquik86
I have to agree, and for the same reason lol!

Sweet :D
When Cloud got wheelchair-ridden in VII i was pretty gutted, we all know how it ends though so it's all good ^^
Aerith's death in Final Fantasy VII. Have to admit, it's the first time I ever felt emotional and shed a tear while playing a video game. Fox-sama
Have to agree on that 1 (although I've cried before while playing a game for some cutscene), it was so sad...
I also cried when Tidus disappeared...
Cait Sith sacrificing himself. :PFantasy_Gamer

Same here and.. well... it's not really a tragedy, but the scenes of Yuna's Wedding were so sad to watch.

yeah, they were hard to watch.I'd have to say my favorite tragedy's were...
Final Fantasy II: At the start you lose your friend to the enemy.
Final Fantasy IV: How Rydia loses all of her people, to you no less.
Final Fantasy VII: Agreed, when Aeris dies, that was a true tragedy.
Final Fantasy VIII: When Squall loses Rinoa to the sorceress possession, and when Rinoa's was going to die in space.
Final Fantasy IX: When Zidane leaves Garnet at the end, but then shows up years later it the play.
Final Fantasy X: At the end when Tidus has to leave Yuna.
True,I forgot about Rinoa almost dying on space.Very sad moment.
I like another part of the 8 too, when Squall says some words of encouragement when they're losing the war to Galbadia Garden.
Sty_ether
Yeah agreed, but there's so many from FFVIII, and in the others mind you...
FFIII: When you're forced to kill Doga and Unei.
FFIV: Seeing Rydia's town being destroyed, seeing Tellah kill himself to defeat Golbez(which was for nothing, as he survived), watching Yang sacrifice himself, and seeing Kain being taken over by Golbez and taking the last crystal from Cecil.
FFV: Seeing Galuf die, and Gilgamesh.
FFVI: Watching Kefka kill Leo, a ton of espers, and Gesthal. Also seeing Kefka destroy the world was the most shocking moment I've seen in FF. Also seeing Shadow's friend in a flashback telling Shadow to kill him as he's horribly wounded, but just to see Shadow run off. Also the scene where Celes attempted to commit suicide.
FFIX: Watching Kuja blow up Alexandria. Seeing Black Waltz 3 kill off a ton of Black Mages. Having Vivi learn that there was no cure to stop him from eventually stopping was also pretty sad for me.
FFXII: Seeing Reks get stabbed by Gabranth. Also seeing Reddas die to destroy the Sun-cryst.
FF X is full of terrible tragedy's. It was really sad seeing Yuna run up to Tidus and she falls through him.I'd have to say my favorite tragedy's were...

ok, well that's you.Hey DrAwesomeMD, maybe you should compare what I think and what you think a little better. Sony_FanBoy, I agree with you on FFX, most of the story is all about sadness and tragedy, I mean the fact that sin goes around just to destroy things, its practically based of tragedy.
its a complete contrast to X-2 isnt it?johngebreadmanYeah mostly. X-2 is more of the rebuilding and new life in spira, whereas X was all about death, destruction, pain and tourment.
It's clear that the terrible stuff out weighs the bad in FFX.FFVII: Zack's Death
FFX: Auron's back story

Wait, what? Don't you mean it outweighs the good? :|
