I agree with you there, a sword and sheild limited your attack power, but i perfer dual-wielding, even though you didn't mention it :P
Dual weilding gives a distinct advantage over most other weapons. it provides an  advantage that can be compared to a person fighting with one hand and the other person fighting with two. Because its superior and looks infinitly cooler 8) it is the common choice in games where you don't have to worry about the technical difficulty of weilding two weapons at once...
I am no different Dual Weilding is the only choice for me    Â
I love extreme physical attack given by Two-handed swords.Fantasy_GamerYou and me both. I love to Smite my foes with by 2 handed Sword, haha. I am more of a Strength and Straight out attaning kind of guy. Defence is to wimpy, in a way. I prefer to just charge and kill them as soon as possible while taking as least amount of hits as possible. That is the way i play but i do try it with other methods as well so as to mix the gameplay and experience of the game. The best way.

Also in a way it can be used defensively while you use 1 sword to attack, and the other to block an enemies move at the same time, but you can tell it takes practise to weild from the fact you need good with both hands and have good hand eye co-ordination
Although it wasn't an original option I would have to go with dual wield. I'm all about rogues of different kinds ^^
Between 2H and S+S I'd go with the shield. Taking for granted that I'm not the only one in charge of dealing damage. I prefer letting damage be the job of rogues and mages of different kinds.

same here, i find 2 handed weapons is powerful but tends to be give less mobility, sword and shield is a compromise between attack and defense, while dual weilding tends to give you the mobility you normally lose when using a 2handed weapon while you keep that power, and usually considerably more speed...[QUOTE="darkandroid"][QUOTE="Fantasy_Gamer"]I love extreme physical attack given by Two-handed swords.robbristow

agreed red, I was shocked to see it not listed as a choice since its so much cooler but with FGs options I'll take two-handed sword but once again deul weild is the ultimate styleDual weilding gives a distinct advantage over most other weapons. it provides an  advantage that can be compared to a person fighting with one hand and the other person fighting with two. Ummm... For you guys who answered 2-Swords (aka dual wield), I give you 0/100. Your answer is not responsive to the question. I only asked for 2-Handed sword and 1 sword, 1 shield.
It's like I asked what is you name and you answered "I am Mark, 25 years old." :P
 that's not fair! well i guess it depends on the situation really...but i'd probably use the 2handed weapon in most cases, actually can i use just a staff and overpowered spells? :PUmmm... Yeah. I intentionally removed the 2-Swords option 'coz I made a thread with that a year ago and everyone have chosen the 2-Sword.Fantasy_Gamerwell then disregard my previous smartass post I guess :)
but you knew what would happen didnt you? :D
 unless the shield as some strange super powerful attack that's a definite 0 votes :PHow about I add other options?
2- Handed Shield
2-Shiled Skills:P

2-Shiled Skills all the way :P (What ever they are? ^_^)
when ever this question comes up i get reminded of KotOR, Jedi Academy and Baulders Gate/NWN
usually i use dual weilding... it can be fast with wirlwind attacks, you can get bonuses from two weapons at once and it looks fancy :P
hell yeah man thats exactly what I thought of too with this thread immediately I was drawn back to my KOTOR days for half of the game I was only using one light saber (dont ask) once I broke out the duals it was unbelievable the difference it makeswhen ever this question comes up i get reminded of KotOR, Jedi Academy and Baulders Gate/NWN

I'll go with neither.(I'm not sure if that was even an option)I'd rather fight with my fists or be a gunner so I wouldn't know which one to pick anyway.I
ive seen old kunfu movies with guys using one sheild thats only one handed and ive seen a french armory exhibit in france from the middle ages and some people were equipped with only a two handed sheild with a sharp bottomKnowledgeOrCred
So it is called Spield (a combination of a Shield and Spear) ^_^
i actually know how to sword and i do it. i prefer to use 2 handed swords. duel wielding takes alot of training and i find it as just swinging away unless u actually have skill then i repsect. but all the cool ppl use one sword. ie. sephiroth, auron, cloud, king arthur. u name it anyone becuase u have more control with both hands on blade. paintball102089very true even though I dont know from experience but it does make sense about the more control, of course dual wielding looks way sweeter in movies and games because the wielder obviously has skills or looks like they do but in real life its much different unless you're very skilled
