I really mean it... Any FF chapter, moment, finale, made you cry???

As far I can remember, the only game and moment that brought tears to my eyes, was on FF VII, when Sephiroth killed Aeris...

WTF, you are going to save her... you have a long journey till there... and out of nowhere he came and kill her!!

And worst, YOU CAN'T REVIVE HER!!!

After I finish the game once, I started to play over and over trying revive her... some rumors said that with Underwater Materia you could enter in that lake and rescue her and later, try to revitalize her... but there's no way... the only thing next to this that happens is a figure of her for a few seconds, on the church with flowers...

I was 18 years old at that time... but that FF moment... really made me cry... :(

By the way, the Underwater Materia was used to kill the Emerald Weapon...

Note: Edited by FG to include spoiler warning)

I've never really gotten close to crying, but Crisis Core's ending was pretty sad, and the moment in FFIX when Vivi sees Black Waltz 3 killing off all the other mages also deserves a mention.

At the time it didn't make me cry, but now that I have something to connect it to (specifically, my own life) some scenes in FF8 bring a tear or two to my eyes.

Final Fantasy 7 was the first realised in Australia and I played it as a child in 97 I think. Aries dieing still makes me sad.

The other thing is when I have beaten the latest FF and realise that it will be a long 3 or so more years wait till the next one.

4 games wow! This year we are lucky.

Very funny. Have you ever been diagnosed with being a sociopath? :P

I have never cried at a final fantasy but if It makes you feel nothing in a story driven world, then why are you playing.

If a man says he doesn't cry at anything he is a liar or a sociopath in English that means he is a cold hearted Bstrd with no feeling for any but him selth

BTW I am not calling magitekk or Bioshockraptor a cold hearted Bstrd or a sociopath the question at the top is a joke. I'm sure your good people.

This is just me saying its all right to cry. I learned this when four family members in the last few months came down with cancer and one has died that I was really close to. I'll leave it there.

Very sorry for your misfortune and loss, hope you're doin' fine now. Yeah, situations like that you can cry to, but with a game it's just a little, I dunno, babyish. Maybe that's the word.

I suffer from depression and anxiety it is slowly going away and believe it or not Bloging-Posting is supposed to be my therapy. I am sorry I should not have posted that last one. That said I have never cried at final fantasy but some parts did make me sad.

BTW depression & anxiety is not a part of being a sociopath ether Lol

On a serious note if any one suffers from these go to my blog and you may find help.

magitekk

Crying is an emotional response, nothing to be ashamed of, and nothing babyish about it. It doesnt matter if you are a guy or a girl, everyone has different responses to different situations. Whether its a movie, a show, an event, a song, or yes even a game it should matter. If someone feels emotionally moved by it, what gives anyone the right to say that it is wrong? If a game isnt suppose to try to give the player an emotional response than what is the point in giving the games stories and characters with personalities?

Okay, you can be moved by a game, yeah, that's perfectly fine. I'll agree, it is intended. But when you're balling your eyes out to a particular scene in which a fictional, animated character dies, that's just taking it a little too far.

So if the intention of the game is to move people then how is it "taking it too far" to actually cry? Isnt that the emotion the game developers are try to get from their audience?

now yes i would say that is how the developers wanted it to feel but then again actually like crying for half an hour or an hour and actually crying like a mother of your has died thats taking it to far, but crying for like 5-15 minutes is still fine on my list

I think crying for that single moment might be okay, but if you're still crying once that moment is over it's kind of strange.

Good we all agree. Now we can get back to the topic that should be re-titled: Moments that made you sad but not cry all day long.

I cried so much when i saw the ending of crisis core. It was soooo sad how zach dies and to me i think the saying just before you start the game "Men cry not for themselves but for their comrades" was kinda touching.

U cant control these kind of feelings....

Errr...I've cried during so many scenes I possibly can't remember them all, but what I now have in mind would be the endings of FFX, FFVIII and Crisis Core. I hate it when my favourite characters die...

Well, I almost cried at the end of Crisis Core.

And then that J-Pop music played and ruined the moment.

No one died at the end of FF8. Not even Ultimecia. She just possessed Edea and it ended up in a time loop.

I've played the game about 15-25 times, I'd know >_>

I agree. That's probably the only FF vocal theme I didn't care for.

I almost cried when I thought Rydia was dead in FFIV. I had a panic attack because she was the best spellcaster I had and I didn't like losing a good wizard. :P

I DID NOT cry when Aeris died. Personally I laughed and said "YES, SHE'S GONE!" :P

actually a FF moment did make me cry...once.

It was when Zack died at the end of crisis core...I mean, did they have to make it CG-I graphics?

I didn't really care when aeris died, good riddance, aeris annoyed me.

Aeris was probably the safest character of the game (if you know what I mean) What was to hate?

Oh sorry, the sentence where I mentioned FFVIII and the one I mentioned character's deaths were meant separated - they had nothing to do with each other and I know very well none died in the eighth game.

Hmm, I don't think I've ever cried. However the FFX ending made me feel really sad...

The Aeris moment didn't really make me sad or cry because my friend spoiled it for me before I even played it >_>

final fantasy x made my cry and on final fantasy crisis core when zack dies D: i cryed because cloud forgets him moments later XD after saying i will never forget you zack what a liar xDaltyendings

Cloud took Zack's memories/life/personality and became Zack himself... so technically he never forgot Zack :P Its that whole "live your life for you" that Cloud took a little too far  Don't think thats what Zack was going for when he said it.

Which part in X made you cry? the end? just curious :) ..I always thought it was sad when you find out about Auron, I liked him.

There were a lot of really moving moments from FFX, I thought, though for some reason I never cried playing it.

FFX the ending was very emotionally stirring as well as Crisis Core ending, though I never actually cried I felt the sadness creeping up in me.

Well, I was young when this game came out, and I cried when the little boy and girl died to save Cecil and his friends in FF4. Other sad moments:

Destruction of the world (FF6)

When Aierth died (FF7)

When they made it look like Squall died at the end (FF8 )

When Tidus left (FF10)
