RTS style FF sounds interesting, but to me it would depend a lot on how the offline play worked. I played the story mode in Warcraft 3 a lot, but I never went on Battlenet. So if they ever made a RTS game with an interesting storyline, then I think it could be a cool game. The idea of an army of Chocobo Knights is very cool. In some fantasy rts games you have healers/priests and mage/wizards. It would be sweet to replace them with White and Black Mages. And airships as flying units.
...Heh, I think I got a bit carried away.

thyat definitely wouldnt work at all!So tanks never existed in Final Fantasy, or other transport vehicles dealing damage? The Compilation of FFVII surely had its version of military weapons from Shin-Ra, and don't forget about the Galbadian army from Final Fantasy VIII. I am not really thinking about just humanoid troops, or a high-fantasy world(like Tactics). Players would be able to create large battles scene like the FMV of Dirge of Cerberus(Deep Ground vs WRO) and Final Fantasy XII(opening).

Maybe...I guess they should try this genre since SE's trying everything else..

FFXII has no tanks in it. It really doesn't have anything in it that didn't previously exist in the series. Not in that reguard atleast. It had alot more airships than previous FF games and alot more types of airships, but that;s it really[QUOTE="Icebuncle"]How could you not take that isht on BNET?!RTS style FF sounds interesting, but to me it would depend a lot on how the offline play worked. I played WC3 multiplayer with rl friends a lot and I enjoyed that. I went on BNET a few times, but for some reason it just didn't appeal to me. Most of the people I "met" in games there were incredibly rude too. So I guess what I should have said was "I tried BNET, didn't like it much and never went there again".

Nope/ Not at allthe airships just made it feel more futuristic for me. in normal gameplay it felt normal though, except in archadesjohngebreadman
It didn't feel futuristic to me, either. It certainly didn't in a ny other FF, either.
the airships just made it feel more futuristic for me. in normal gameplay it felt normal though, except in archadesjohngebreadmanHow can somethign htat has been a part of hte series since the very first game make the game feel more futuristic than any other entry? That makes no sense. That;s like saying it feels mroe animalistic because there are chocobos
^You only focused on the word "capabilities" and totally disregarded the "appearance" (which may only be rivaled by that of FFX and the Celsius, and probably, the Ragnarok) and the fact that there are so many of it in FFXII.Fantasy_GamerWhat hte hell does how many there are have to do with anything? The fact is that FFXII is no more sci fi fha FFI, II III, IV, V, VI, IX and Tactics

All are sci-fi, but definitely there are differences in the degree in which it is implemented, and it is not being sci-fi or not which I was talking to. I am only referring to the existence of the airships in the FFXII world.
Btw, now you are only focusing about "how many" airships are there. I am talking about the appearance, amount and capabilities taken, AS A WHOLE, of FFXII airships, which I think affected the perception of many gamers that FFXII is highly futuristic.

No. The point is that nothing that I listed is sci fi. IT is all of the fantasy games in the seriesIt's not he first time that airships have been used as machines of war and it;s not the first time where there have been a hell of alot of them. Of course, the PSone couldn't do something like what they did with the PS2. It's actually amazing that the PS2 was able to do it. They really had to push the system. Either way, there was nothing really oput of hte ordinary. Just a natural progression of what we have seen before. Not sci fi. Fantasy

No? No for what? That you are not focusing only in the amount of airships? Once again, your answer is not responsive to the issue you are responding to. And your point that nothing of those you have listed is sci-fi is none of my concern (with regard to my previos statements) 'coz I never talked about FFXII being sci-fi or not. I only commented on the fact that the airships of FFXII, and their sheer amount in the game is too futuristic.
Granting I have said that FFXII is a sci-fi, your argument that it is not sci-fi (because it is fantasy) does not hold water 'coz basically, sci-fi and fantasy are in the same league, both being mere imaginative creation. Actually, some sources even consider fantasy as a mere genre or constitutes as a mere part of science fiction as a whole. The only real difference between the two is that in sci-fi, its imaginary elements are largely possible within scientifically established or scientifically postulated laws of nature (though some elements might still be pure imaginative speculation). And we know that airships or other kinds of aircraft are largely possible within scientifically established or scientifically postulated laws of nature. Those kinds of airships are largely possible to be created in the future, thus, whether you consider it fantasy or not, it is still a sci-fi.
Again, you did not answer my points about the FFXII airships as a whole.
Anyway, there's no point in arguing with you about fantasy being just a mere component of sci-fi. I side with those who have stated it as such, with authority, rather than with someone who confuse opinons as facts.
