I'm playing my FFXII game again and I wanna go after some of the harder espers and hunts so I need recommendations for a gambit set-up so that pretty much everything I need done is covered. I have/have access to any and all magick and technicks and I have every gambit, so please, just go wild and tell me what you did so I can get some stuff cleared on my game.

Oh, don't forget to mention which characters had what weapons please!!! Thanks so much~

Im using this :

1. Ally any - Arise (Raise for characters with low MP)

2. Ally any - Phoenix down

3. Ally HP Critical - Elixir

4. Ally HP less than 30% - Curaga (10% - Curaja for characters with low MP)

5. Ally HP less than 30% - X-Potion

6. Ally any - Esuna

7. Ally status: Slow - Hastega

8. Ally status: Stop - Dispel

9. Ally any - Remedy

10. Ally MP less than 10% - Elixir

11. Ally MP less than 40% - Hi-Ether

12. Foe status: *insert beneficial status* - Dispel (Only used for bosses, usually turned off)

13. Foe status: flying - Aeroga

14. Foe nearby - Attack

Of course, you have to adapt your gambits for certain Bosses, Mark Hunts or Espers, but it should work for most battles.

Yiazmat? My strategy for him was basically do good amount of damage, leave battle field, save and get healed, go back and fight, and repeat.

yeah. but I think it was due to regen, and you could just dispel that then leave. I might be wrong, but my strategy did work for me.

yeah, if you couldn't, I would not have bothered with Yiazmat, he was a huge pain in the gluteus maximus!

It took me around a week or two to beat him. I can still remember the craziness I felt fighting him. >_>

I agree with all of the arise stuff being first but alot of the hunts and espers have status effects so plan accordingly. If they hit you with an effect during the fight...make a gambit to counter it. Like yiazmat has stone and stop so those MUST be in the system when you go for it. I say there is no perfect set up. in general you'll want life giving stuff up top and attack stuff on bottom and the rest is micromanaging for bosses and extras only. I do like his Foe: Flying = Aero (good thinking not having to wait for Telekinesis).

Actually, I do have gambits to counter those in my set-up.
