actually, even though you may think your an rpg fan, your really not, because there is no such thing as an rpg fan that hasnt played and replayed golden sun. theres "rpg enjoyers" so to speak, but to be a true rpg fan without having played the awesomeness that is golden sun would violate several basic laws of the universe and cause existence to cave in on itself, or at least shudder violently for a while which could cause any number of bad things to happen (earthquakes, typhoons, spiderman 4, etc)

Actually im an rpg "fan", and I found golden sun decent but not that great.. Golden Sun was too easy, and the battle system was flawed.

Oh yeah, definately.. both games are great.. the second is a continuation of the first, and you can carry over some "items" from the first to the second when you've completed it... :)

I personally found them to be.....average. They're decent enough, but as someone above pointed out, the battle system can be somewhat flawed, and I just personally found them to lack any kind of special or overly unique aspect that sets them appart. That said, you can typically find them fairly cheap, and they are definately worth a playthrough if you've already been around the block with the Final Fantasys, Fire Emblems, Lunars, and such.

One thing I will point out is that YOU MUST PLAY "GOLDEN SUN" GAMES ON THE HANDHELDS only. I typically play my GBA games on the NGC via the GBA Player attachment, but unlike the Final Fantasy ports, the Golden Sun games translate poorly onto the bigger screen, and the images are blocky and overly pixelated. (just a warning to any other NGC/GBA Player users)

I picked up Golden Sun for $4.99 and The Lost Age for $7.99 at my local Gamestop so they're pretty cheap if you decide to seek them out. I'm about half way through Golden Sun and think it's really good. I probably only qualify as a "rpg enjoyer" though. ;)

Yeah, I noticed that too. :( If you have the filter option (or whatever it's called) set to sharp, the whole screen seems to kind of bounce when on the world map.

I got my copy last saturday. They have a bunch of the sequels at the gamestop near me but only a few of the first one. I am going to get the 2nd copy quick before it is sold out.
