So i just recently bought fire red and i plan on doing the soft reset strategy to get a shiny starter preferably charmander. I hear though that shiny charmander as a starter looks the same as a regular one and that you have to look at his stats to tell if hes shiny. Does any1 know what exactly im looking for????
They only way you can tell its a shiny is it'll be a different color than what it normally is, in this case it'll be yellow/gold rather than redish-orange. and yes its about 1 in 8000 chance you'll see a shiny so good luck with that.
What's bad is people can hack these in 10 seconds flat and take all the challenge out of having to spend days restarting in order to get a shiny. sometimes i wish hacking wasn't possible.
well i got a lot of buddies who play and they all use their hacked legendaries and act all cool and stuff so I just wanna get something none of em have thats legit

every shiny pokemon is different from the normal, but some are very similar... stats have nothing to do with it anymore.
and i suggest you dont bother since the chance is 1 in 8191. and even if you do get it what if the universe decides to be really evil and give you a bad nature and rock-bottom stats? :D
