I'd suggest... no. It's really not that great. Sure, it's dinky, but you can hardly see what's on the screen! You can't read hardly any text in the games! Plus, while it is a GBA, it doesn't have backwards compatibility with the GB and GBC.
I'd highly suggest investing in a NDS Lite. Totally worth it, completely, even if you have to wait much longer while you earn the money.
Yeah, if you like portable games get a DS. Doesn't have to be light either, maybe you can score an old one for cheap (not sure if they got cheaper when lite's came out).I'd suggest... no. I have a phat and it's completely fine. The backlight is completely sufficient and I think it looks a lot better than lights (although lite's ultimately are designed better).
If you dont have an SP, yes you should.fr0stm0rn
I have an SP but i want something else i don't want to trade it or anything. But it is the kind that doesn't have the really bright screen. So that is what I'm really looking forword to. Plus it looks cooler than the SP. So should I buy it? It would be cool to have both.mike0015

lol for pointing that out!
I own a micro, GBASP, DS and DSlite. The Micro is great. The screen is so much nicer and clearer than the first gameboy adv. (clamshell). Its not as bad as what people here are making it sound. You can read and see everything fine. The draw back to the micro is that it can only play Adv. games. No GB or GBC games. I would recommend buying a newer GBA with the brighter screen if your still playing a lot of the older GB/GBC titles. Its the same screen that was used for the micro and now being used for the DS lite. As for getting a DS the first generation DS uses the same screen that is used on the first GBA (clamshell) the DS lite uses the screens found on the micro and newer GBA SP. Choosing a DS is something to think about. The older DS is bigger but the D pad and buttons are more responsive. the DS lite has the smaller and brighter screen but can be a bit more uncomfortable to hold and control. Also the DS cant play GB/GBC games as well. I suggest going to a game shop like EB, gamestop or gamecrazy and ask to look and all 3 to see which you think will be best for you.stressfordthe ds can play gb and gbc games
