Games like Mario? Recommendations. Please help!

Hi everyone.  My little brother is turning 8, and I would like to get him a new game.  He has all of the Mario ones, and loves them.  Can anyone recommend some that are like those, games he might like?  Thank you!

There are the Klonoa games and Metroid. The new TMNT on GBA is good. And if all that fails, there is always POKEMON!
