i have an original GBA right now. ive started to get back into the gba vibe, as my psp and GC/X360 are wearing me out.

i was playing a little castleviania latley, but after it gets dark, the screen gets impossible to see without the perfect lighting! i also want to be able to play one in the car at night , or after i turn all of my lights off.

so, since micros are now dirt cheap, i was considering getting one. but when i read it couldent play game boy/colour games, i thought that i would need a better reson to buy one over an sp.comments or suggestions?

i still may get one, but not without some convincing. i think i would miss links awakening/DX and duke nukem too much!

Thanks in advance, crensen.

they'remuch better lookingthan the sp. they have a really nice brushed steel casing. the screen - although smaller - is brighter and sharper, they're miles smaller so easier to carry around with you and as you said, they're really cheap. i got mine brand new for £15 in the january sales

i would say that because the micro is so cheap you should just pick it up, the screen is really bright too!

The GBA SP is not terribly big and can play any GB game. The newer ones (The Blue/Green, Black and Pink models) have a very nice screen and are easy to see.

For he most part I find that at home I tend to play my SP more often than any other hand-held, however whenever I am out I always carry my micro with me, it's just too convenient. I would say if you play games on-the-go, like work or school, a lot get a micro otherwise I think the SP is good. Both are cheap and are much better for games like Castlevania than the orginal GBA.

or just get a DS but the decision is up to you. id say buy a SP if you still want to play your GBC games if you arent in the market for a DS.

Get the micro, I got one and it's definitely worth it. I play my GBA games on my micro instead of my DS usually, because it looks a lot sharper on the micro's screen and there aren't black edges with nothing there (like on the DS).

And it's so small, you sometimes forget it's in your pocket.

Get the Micro. Its cheap, small, and has an amazing screen. I just bought one and I love it, though I don't have any original gameboy games so I could care less about those, only GBA games. You can get a Micro from Gamestop brand new for only $40 though, so its a steal deal in my eyes.

Yeah, I got mine at launch and I use it almost everyday, I still own a DS, but I prefer to play GBA games on the micro since they look pretty good there and because it is so small I always carry great games with me all the time.

The smaller screen, IMO, makes the games easier to focus on an such. I can't play an SP anymore, the screen is too big and the images are pixelated compared to micro. Also, every button on the micro is better than the SP. The a, b, and + all bulge out more and feel better to press, and the shoulder buttons are bigger than SPs and are just clicky things. Besides, all GameBoy and GameBoy Colour Games should be played on the original handheld, the GameBoy Colour. The also fit better in you pocket than the SP, and they come in the awesome famicom colour!
