Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2 9.4
Genre: Platforming | Priority : X
The game holds up fabulously, and the slight modifications that Nintendo has made to the game for its handheld release make it even better.

Mario & Luigi: Super Star Saga 8.9
Genre: Role-Playing | Priority: X
Mario and Luigi is a fun and engaging spin on the traditional action RPG experience that blends equal doses of impressive technology, innovation, and humor..

Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3 8.4
Genre: Platformer | Priority: X
Its beautiful, inspired visuals and consistently fun and inventive gameplay make it a landmark achievement in one of gaming's most beloved genres.

Super Mario Bros. 3: Super Mario Advance 4 8.4
Genre: Platformer | Priority: X
SMB3 purists may be annoyed with some of the minor tweaks that have been made to the original game, but that shouldn't stop them from experiencing this incredible platformer all over again.

Mario Tennis: Power Tour 8.5
Genre: Tennis | Priority: X
Once again, Nintendo has taken a sport that not everyone likes and has transformed it into a fun-filled game that's suitable for any player of any age.

Mario Golf: Advance Tour 8.2
Genre: Golf Sim | Priority: X
The addition of light role-playing elements to the otherwise standard golf gameplay doesn't always mesh particularly well, but the game is otherwise put together well enough that such minor design peculiarities are easy to overlook.

Mario Kart Super Circuit 8.2
Genre: Kart Racing | Priority: X
Whether you're an ardent fan of the Mario Kart series or a first-time player, Mario Kart Super Circuit is a must-have for owners of the Game Boy Advance.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong 8.0
Genre: 2D Platformer | Priority: X
Both on its own and as a tribute to Mario's legacy, Mario vs. Donkey Kong does a great job.

Mario Pinball Land 7.5
Genre: Pinball | Priority: X
Mario Pinball Land combines Mario with pinball to create an interesting kind of adventure game.

Dr. Mario 7.4
Genre: Puzzle | Priority: X
Dr. Mario's production values don't quite measure up to today's standards even for a puzzle game, but the gameplay has held up well, and the wireless networking is a great feature.

Castlevania: Circle of the Moon 9.6
Genre: 2D Platformer | Priority: 1
Anyone craving an amazing 2D adventure--not just Symphony of the Night fans--would be absolutely foolish to pass on this one.

Genre: 2D Platformer | Priority: 1
If you're looking for a quality 2D platformer for your Game Boy Advance, look no further than Wario Land 4.

Mega Man Zero 2 8.6
Genre: 2D Platformer | Priority: 2
The difficulty will discourage many players, but Mega Man Zero 2 belongs in the collection of anyone who considers themselves an aficionado of action games.

Metroid: Zero Mission 8.5
Genre: 2D Platformer | Priority: 2
The entire presentation and the gameplay itself are totally first-rate in Metroid: Zero Mission. You'll just wish that there were more meat to the game.

Castlevania Double Pack 8.4
Genre: 2D Platformer | Priority: X
Castlevania Double Pack contains both Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance and Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow.

Mega Man Zero 3 8.3
Genre: 2D Platformer | Priority: 1
If you've enjoyed Mega Man games in the past or have been waiting for one that's a little less punishing, Mega Man Zero 3 is the game to get.

Donkey Kong Country 2 8.3
Genre: 2D Platformer | Priority: X
DKC2 is a diverse platform game that looks and sounds superb and has an impressive list of bonus features, but it's also extremely difficult.

Metal Slug Advance 8.3
Genre: 2D Platformer | Priority: X
Metal Slug's first foray onto the GBA is a resounding success.

Drill Dozer 8.2
Genre: 2D Platformer | Priority: 2
Inventive platforming and fun boss battles make Drill Dozer an appealing side-scroller.

Kirby and the Amazing Mirror 8.2
Genre: 2D Platformer | Priority: 2
If you're looking for pure platforming action with plenty of variety, Kirby's latest adventure most certainly fits the bill.

WarioWare Inc: Mega MicroGame$ 9.1
Genre: Puzzle | Priority: 2
Anyone looking for an exciting change of pace will have a fantastic time with WarioWare.

WarioWare: Twisted! 8.8
Genre: Puzzle | Priority: 2
WarioWare: Twisted! is a great game that any Nintendo portable owner can enjoy.

Super Monkey Ball Jr. 8.0
Genre: Puzzle | Priority: 2
Super Monkey Ball Jr. is the kind of game you want in your collection, even if you don't generally enjoy puzzle games.

Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo 7.7
Genre: Puzzle | Priority: 3
While it may not be a pixel-perfect port, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo for the GBA still stands as one of the best Tetris-style puzzle games ever made.

Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising 9.1
Genre: Sci-Fi Turn-Based Strategy | Priority: 1
Whether or not you consider yourself a fan of turn-based strategy games or any strategy games, chances are you'll have a terrific time playing Advance Wars 2.

Tactis Ogre: The Knights of Lodis 9.1
Genre: Fantasy Turn-Based Strategy | Priority: 1
The gameplay of Tactics Ogre truly shines, and the Game Boy Advance is a capable platform for it.

Advance Wars 9.1
Genre: Fantasy Turn-Based Strategy | Priority: 1
Advance Wars is both impressive and addictive. It's "better then Crack" but still Legal!!!

Fire Emblem 8.9
Genre: Fantasy Turn-Based Strategy | Priority: 1
Fire Emblem couples a compelling, character-driven epic tale with strategic gameplay that is accessible and still manages to be challenging and satisfying.

Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones 8.8
Genre: Fantasy Turn-Based Strategy | Priority: 1
It offers a lengthy, rewarding, thought-provoking experience that truly makes you feel as though the decisions you make, waging one exciting battle after the next, carry serious consequences.

Super Robot Taisen: OG 2 8.4
Genre: Sci-Fi Turn-Based Strategy | Priority: 1
st suited for anyone fortunate to have played the previous game, Original Generation 2 is a great little space opera in its own right.

Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon 8.3
Genre: Fantasy Turn-Based Strategy | Priority: 1
This remake of the original Shining Force is one of the best strategy role-playing games on the GBA.

Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation 8.3
Genre: Sci-Fi Turn-Based Strategy | Priority: 1
A few minor issues barely put a dent in this anime-inspired strategy role-playing game, which delivers a great story and dozens of interesting missions.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 8.2
Genre: Fantasy Turn-Based Strategy | Priority: 2
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is a deep and involving RPG that offers dozens of hours' worth of entertaining tactical battles.

Yggdra Union 8.0
Genre: Fantasy Turn-Based Strategy | Priority: 2
An alternative to the blueprint for strategy role-playing games, Yggdra Union is strange, complicated, interesting, and charming.

Rebelstar: Tactical Command 7.8
Genre: Sci-Fi Turn-Based Strategy | Priority: 2
Though it lacks the base-building and economic concerns of its ancestor, Rebelstar delivers in a big way with a lengthy, engaging campaign married to an elegant turn-based combat system.

Riviera: The Promised Land 8.7
Genre: RPG | Priority: 2
Riviera is as diverse as it is formulaic, but it ultimately exceeds expectations thanks to its engrossing story and slick production values.

Genre: RPG | Priority: 1
Golden Sun is a throwback to some of the SNES' best.

Genre: RPG | Priority: 1
Final Fantasy IV, arguably the breakthrough entry in the influential series, is a perfect fit for the Game Boy Advance and is a must-play experience for fans of role-playing games.

Genre: RPG | Priority: 1

Genre: Role-Playing | Priority: 2
Shining Soul II is the kind of dungeon hack that can keep you occupied for a long, long time.

Zoids: Legacy 7.6
Genre: Role-Playing | Priority: 3
The game does a masterful job of allowing players to collect and put together an army of unique and powerful robots, but it falls short at providing a cohesive or memorable role-playing experience.

Genre: Action | Priority: 3
Spider-Man: Mysterio's Menace is seven full levels of original gameplay steeped in old-school trickery.

Final Fight One 8.4
Genre: Action | Priority: 3
Final Fight represents straightforward arcade brawling at its absolute best. That the entire arcade game now fits in your pocket is quite frankly insane.

Bokatai: The Sun Is In Your Hand 8.3
Genre: Action Adventure | Priority: 2
Boktai would be a great game even if it didn't have a fancy solar sensor built right into the cartridge. That just serves to make it even more interesting.

Bokatai 2: Solar Boy Django 8.0
Genre: Horror Action Adventure | Priority: 2
Boktai 2 stands as a unique action adventure experience that's sufficiently different from the first game to make it seem fresh and interesting all over again.

Justice League Heroes: The Flash 7.9
Genre: Beat-'Em-Up | Priority: 2
The Flash's abilities are implemented in interesting and fun ways, plus the game looks and sounds exactly the way you'd want a comic book game to be presented.

Genre: Fantasy Action Adventure | Priority: 2
Scurge: Hive is a solid action adventure with a slick presentation that should appeal to anyone who enjoys the Metroid style of play.

Tony Hawk Series 9.1 ((Average))

F-Zero: Maximum Velocity 8.1
Genre: Futuristic Racing | Priority: 1
While not revolutionary in any regard, F-Zero: Maximum Velocity is a challenging yet addictive racer with speed to spare.

Genre: Kart Racing | Priority: 2
Konami Krazy Racers is an incredibly entertaining game that's certainly worthy of the attention of any kart-racing fan.

F-Zero GP Legend 8.0
Genre: Futuristic Racing | Priority: 1
Time has been kind to this old gameplay standard, and it is as much fun to play today as it ever was.

Thanks, I have Mario Kart so F-Zero would be a little too similar. I'll invest in Advance Wars. Do you need two paks for that? I love Mario Kart because I can play with anyone that has a GameBoy whether they have the pak itself or not.

I'm pretty sure that it takes two carts, but I'm not positive. I'm checking around the Advance Wars GS Forum I'll have an answer by tomarrow morning :D

Why is one Metroid a platformer and one Metroid an action/adventure?

Zlurodirom

Well the games are different in many ways but I classify games under whatever category GameSpot has classified them under. The Metroid under Platformers was classified as a 2D Platformer the other wa under Action Adventure.

I don't know why GameSpot did that but I trusts there judgement.

Hey everyone, I just updated the Multi-Player Section, I'll make a Banner for it soon but for now I just

Alphabetized everything & I added a ranking system 1-5 stars. 5 = the BEST 1 = WHY WAS THIS MADE

The ratings system is solely for the Multi-Player mode not the entire game, as of now only about 8 are rated because I haven't played ALL OF THOSE GAMES  & I probubly never will, BUT if you'd like to help out POST HERE or P.M. ME how many Stars you think a game should get for it's Multi-Player:D

Thanx & I'll start on the Old Sk00l games, Import games, Poke Mon games, & the History of the GameBoy sections alittle later tonight :D

Tomarrow I'm going to start working on the NEW SECTIONS w00t w00t!!!!:D

But for now I added MegaMan Zero 3 under the Platformers section although MMZ2 has a Higher GS score I own MMZ3 & know that it's easier then the 1,2, & 4 so I thought it was important to add it especially since it's cheap & a great way for newbies of the series to start off, also because I liked the picture I added a "CheezyFrog's GBA Recommendation Thread" Header Picture Thinger onto the First Post :D

I think the first NEW section I want to start & hopefully complete tomarrow is the GBA Accessories Section :D

Anyway untill tomarrow, GodSpeed & I hope you enjoy this thread

P.S. REMEMBER if you want something added to this thread or if you'd like to help out with the Multi-PLayer ratings feel Free to post & let me know what YOU WANT ! ! !

Also since I won't be getting around to the "Greatest Hits Section" any-time soon

POKEMON LEAF-GREEN & POKEMON FIRE-RED ARE GOING TO BECOME GBA GREATEST HITS OCTOBER 18th IN THE US WHICH MEANS THEY'LL BE $19.99 ! ! ! ! !

You know how people need games that'll last'em awhile, do you think that's kind-of a good idea for a Section like New Longer Lasting :P

With games from each Genre that have High Scores & are Lengthy?

Just wondering, I'm flying back to Colorado today so I won't be ablet od o much with the Thread but I'll update with more stuff tomarrow :D

ChezTaco ((or whatever his name is)) never updates his recommendation thread, so I decided to create my own.

I thought it was ridiculous that he never posted or updated for 2 MONTHS!!! Then he came back all the sudden posted for 2 days & left again, so I'm going to continue mine, I might try & get it stickied because it's absolutley ridiculous that the GBA Recommendations that is stickied never gets updated :P

So....I made this

Dude, I appreciate that, I'm trying with the limited amount of time I've had :P I started workin on this over the summer then got REALLY busy,....now I'm not so busy so I'd like to finish it up. I'm worried all the hard work'll come to an end fter the GBA brand dies-out. I REALLY hope that Nintendo doesn't kill-off the GBA. There are still possibilities. They could make something with graphics BETTER then the PSP in a nicer looking handheld & use carts instead of Discs or UMDs & make AWESOME Gamecube quality games. They could keep the DS because they'd both have core-audiances (SP?).

I agree, all though there is a SLIGHT shortage of racing games, there are HIGH quality games like Mario Kart Super-Circuit & F-Zero.

Questions for you guys, I'm thinking of taking OUT the PKMN section making it an Old-Sk00l GameBoy & GameBoy Color section & adding PKMN FireRed//LeafGreen to the RPG's section. I will be keeping the PKMN Mystery Dungeon Red section though!!! I also expect people who have Dungeon Blue or Red to help poeple out if they post for Dungeon help here, if I'm online I promise to help :D

Sound all-right to you guys!?

Wow, great work, this is alot better than the old one! But why did you put 8.4 for Yoshi's Island? Didn't it get 9.2 or something like that.

It just seems like a list of GameSpot's Top Games sorted by score, chopping off any earlier games, with some pretty graphics thrown in.
