Howdy - I just bought a used Castlevania HoD cart without a manual, and am getting the hang of it. But I can't seem to save my progress. I found a Save Room, and also did the Quick Save in the menu, but it never saves my progress after I shut it off. Am I doing something wrong, or is there a little battery in there that's dead? If so, is it replaceable?

Thanks for helping a noob in need.

I think you're on the right track. Look around for either a tutorial or a replacement. It might be cheaper and easier just to buy a new copy. The person who pawned it off might have gotten rid of it because of the problem your having.

normally for a castlevania game to save, there is a small animation in the save room and it confirms the save by saing `save complete` or something

It sounds like you may have a pirtated copy of the game. If you can return it and get your money back, do it. As for a good copy of the game, look for the Castlevania Double Pack for the GBA, those aren't pirated as much so you'll have better luck getting it.

Not sure, but maybe a bit impatient when you go to the save room? You go to the room, select yes, then you should be back in that room.

If not, your battery in the cart is dead or you have a pirated copy. Gamestop/eb is for some reason stating to sell LOTS of pirated copies of harmony of dissonance and aria of sorrow lately.

Cool, thanks for all the replies.   Pretty sure I'm saving properly in the Save room - who knows, maybe it's a boot.   I should have gotten the double pack anway, but this copy was like $12.00 which I thought was reasonable.   Better luck next time I guess!

Batteries can be replaced but you have to send it in to Nintendo (and it may not be free) and if it actually IS a pirated copy you are SOL there too.

cool. Thanks, I might just try to get the double pack (new and sealed!) and go from there. Frustrating playing for a while and losing it all when you have to shut down!
