Not really. Especially considering the 2008 lineup, the huge variety of games (from 3d RPGs and adventures to casual games like Brain Age 2 to oldschool games like Contra 4). Even games like FFTA2, Kingdom Hearts 358/2, FFIV remake, Ninja Gaiden (touch screen goodness), and Advanced Wars Day of Ruin, the DS has games, even now, that prove its worth over the GBA. Super Mario 64 DS (a port with extra content), Mario Kart DS (best of the series), two new, solid Castlevania games with a new third one in the works, Zelda; PH, the best (arguably) handheld Zelda to date, FFIII, Elite Beat Agents (a whole new genre for the handheld gaming), and a great deal more. Don't forget the most accurate FPS control for a handheld on the market!!! PLus, to top it all off, the DS & DS Lite can play all GBA games!!!!

And the GBA was never a revolution for its time. More like an evolution of the GB series. O, and did you make a whole new account just to post this topic? considering this is your first post, lol

The DS is obviously better than the GBA, but still i remember loving the GBA when it came out, it's design is pretty cool back then, and is still decent now.
I'll just say both are great in their own rights, but I didnt like the GBA SP, looks ugly to me =D

So far no ds games have "wowed" me; but there has been a handfull of gba games that have done so, such as riviera, FFV, golden sun and ffVIjust to name a few..

I'd take the GBA over the DS any day...I bought a Gameboy Micro a month after I bought the DS Lite and gave the Lite to my Fiancee. Other than Zelda: PH, FFIII, a few Mario games and a few others, the system is flopped in terms of quality of games if you ask me. I like playing GBA games on the Micro over the DS Lite as well because the controls are nicer and because of its portability.

yeha...right...sureee, why are you comparing two consoles from the same company? There's no fight between teh two, the DS can play gameboy games, so therefore it already lost... Also, now the DS is revolutionary for the hand-helds because of the new touch screen gameplay. I don't see how the DS can't release games that will be better than the GBA's

Im comparing the games not the systems.. So far, out of the handful of ds games I have played, I have been more impressed with my gba games then my ds games. Graphics have no meaning to me, well to a certain extent of course. I like the touch screen; only contact and mph have actually used it well out of the games I have played.

Im sure in due time, I will make the switch to the ds; but for now im enjoying playing gba games on my micro.
