As a handheld I'd say its still doing fine. It came out way back in 2001 if I can remember but even though its just movie cash ins and classic Final Fantasy ports now there are still a few decent games coming out for it. TMNT is a great side scroller which I recently played for the GBA and I've just started playing the Kindgom Hearts game too.

Personally I don't really like any of Nintendo's home consoles (due to lack of non-good mascot games) but I've always enjoyed the handheld series and do hope to see more swan songs for the GBA.

Yeah it has been going out for a long good time I remember back in 2001 one when I would have fun playing Rayman Advance that was the best game I play for the gameboy advance back than.

That's right, the GBA's been around for about 6 years now... but it's still a great handheld, and I still play it pretty often! :)

GBA is awesome (got my first one in 2001 with Doom)and all the shops are selling games dirt cheap. Today i bought F-Zero GP Legend for £1.98, this game is brilliant and at that price if they had had another couple of copies i would have got them too-shelf clearance FTW!!!

But seriously i have all the Handhelds (you know DSs, PSPs GBAs, Neo Geos)and i still tend to play on my Gameboys the most. The micro would have been the most perfect handheld if ONLY it could play the older GB games-nintendo have a habit of Building in at least ONE fault with every system they release-reminds me of general Motors and their 7 fault cars :-). Nintendo should not have dismissed it so easiliy after the success of DS, a NEW Gameboy model would be welcome to continue the development of the cartridge(people who say they are archaic miss the point of gaming-compare it to PSP where you spend 15% of your time on average waiting for loading screens=cartridges come into their own on handhelds).

Well, the game boy brand itself has lasted well over a decade now. And the GBA's can still play every single game leading up to the GBA titles, all the way back to the originals.

Only the game boy micro and DS changed that.
