emrald (sp) for the new pokemon and then leaf green or fire red for the classic ones. i think the 2nd gen pokemon might be in them too, after you beat it and trade it unlocks a differnt pokedex.
I played Yellow and I liked it. I think it's been 2 years since I've played the beginning of Crystal but I think I wanna get into it again. I really like Pokemon Trading Card Game! It's awesome (if you know how to play) especially when traveling. Pinball is ok.
they're not too expensive, so i would say to buy Emerald and FR/LG (whichever) so you have 2 pokemon storylines with the best colour and emerald offers more of a variety of pokemon than ruby/ saffire
There are really only pretty much 3 different games, Red, Blue, and Yellow(pretty much LeafGreen/FireRed with a few differences) the only differences are what starter Pokemon you can choose from and which pokemon are available in the game, Gold/Silver/Crystal the only real difference is again which pokemon you can catch, and also there is something about the legendary dogs in Crystal (which i never bought), and Rudy/Sapphire/Emerald same differences, something different in Emerald, i havent got that far in it yet, i just got it a few days ago but in response to your question, i would say Red/Blue
Red/Blue. I dont think ive ever spent more time playing a game in past years then i used to play that. Hahaha never caught em all though.In_Vino_Verita
I caught em all once, Oak told me i was a true Pokemon Master, i even caught a Mew (without a gameshark or cheating)
Emerald is my personal favorite. Fire Red and Leaf Green are outstanding as well, even if you've played Red and Blue before. Emerald just seems like it was made for more of the older, more experienced players...with the Battle Frontier and harder gyms and everything.
