I pretty much just pick Pokemon that look cool, stats don't really matter to me in Pokemon because it's not that hard anyways. I pick the coolest ones, like in Sapphire I had a Bagon, Ralts, Blaziken, etc.
Well first, I'm trying right now to get all 490 pokemon in my Diamond game right now, so I kinda need to raise them all. But my favorites are cool looking, and strong. They also need to get rid of dumb attacks like Leer and junk like that.
