best shooter and rpg?

i got a gamecube a couple of weeks ago thinking it was gonna be great but to be honest im not likein it to much, i havent found a game yet that i like, ive tryed different things like final fantasy:cc which to be honest was terrible, i completed red fraction which was ok but not very intresting, i cant be botherd with metroid prime that game just anoyed the hell out of me, im not tryin to flame the console or anythink, im thinkin that the console just ent for me, if theres any games you know of that rele make the console stand out plz let me know

There are really only two "shooters" that I've enjoyed for the NGC:

1. IKARUGA
2. CHAOS FIELD

If by "shooters" you ment "first/third person shooter-action" then my favorites were: 

1. METROID PRIME 1&2 (i realize you said you hate them, but what can I say, they're the benchmark) 
2. RESIDENT EVIL 4
3. JEDI KNIGHT II: JEDI OUTCAST
4. MEDAL OF HONOR: FRONTLINE

As for Role Playing Games I would personally recommend:

1. FIRE EMBLEM: PATH OF RADIANCE
2. BATEN KAITOS: ETERNAL WINGS & THE LOST OCEAN
3. BATEN KAITOS ORIGINS
4. TALES OF SYMPHONIA
5. PAPER MARIO: THE THOUSAND YEAR DOOR

If you are like me and disregard the folks that claim its not an RPG:

1. LEGEND OF ZELDA: THE WIND WAKER
2. LEGEND OF ZELDA: TWILIGHT PRINCESS
3. LEGEND OF ZELDA: OCARINA OF TIME MASTER QUEST
4. LEGEND OF ZELDA: COLLECTOR'S EDITION

If you can find a GBA Player accessory (attaches and becomes the base of your NGC) you can treat yourself to:

1. FINAL FANTASY I, II, IV, V, VI
2. LEGEND OF ZELDA: LINK TO THE PAST & THE MINISH CAP
3. LUNAR LEGEND

Get Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil remake.

 Try Rogue Squadron II and read about Tales of Symphonia or Baten Kaitos to see if you'd like those.

 Don't miss Paper Mario. These are all very well rated games for the Gamecube.

I recommend Killer 7.....it's a bit weird, but it's kind of a mix between a shooter AND an rpg.

I thought it was great and pretty mind blowing.

For shooters, here are some I enjoyed:

Nightfire, Everything or Nothing, Resident Evil 4, Jedi Knight Outcast, Freedom Fighters, Timesplitters 2-3, Hitman 2, Metal Arms Glitch in the System.

RPGs:

Paper Mario Thousand Year Door, Both Baten Kaitos, Fire Emblem, If you like LOTR, then the Third Age.
