The gamecube may be a dead system, but I've been buying games at a pretty fast rate lately. For $10 each, I bought: Sonic Heros, Sonic Racers, Geist, Battalion Wars, and a Spryo game. Even after that, I'm still searching for more cheap games to fatten my collection. Anyone else doing this?

Sadly some of the games are stubbornly high priced, not enough so to become collectables, but still up there.

Yes it is true that some of the under looked games on "dead" systems have been dropping of course that also means some have been sky rocketing. Sadly Zelda hasn't seen a price drop =(

ive found the opposite....all the good games are still £20 ($40) over here. getting collectable. zelda windwaker special edition was £40 ($80) even though games over here are just genrally expensive!

Not really. I never owned a gamecube but i got a wii so i was going to buy a bunch of the good gamecube games i missed out on. So I generally figured that the gamecube games would be cheap now because nobody buys them anymore. And When i got to the store Melee is still 50$ and Super Mario Sunchine and mario kart double dash are both 40$ and i could get a used wii game or a brand new ds game for that much. So to make my point the games arnt cheap, only the crappy ones.

Now im getting xbox games (cause i just got that a year ago) and they're all like 15 to 20, and im waiting to get a wii. Its gonna be sad cause all those games will be 50 dollars lol, oh well im trying not to buy alot of games now.

It was that way a year ago... at least where I am, GC games are really hard to find in stores. And most of them aren't even available online anymore...

Hey, I never said all the gamecube games were cheap; Nintendo tends to keep high prices on their first-party titles. Nonetheless, there are still more $10-$15 games than before. While not A+++ titles, the ones I bought are pretty good.

GameCube isn't dead yet.

And I can still find GC games pretty easily. My local Toys R Us and Future shop both have over 50 GC games, while most of the other stores where I live have over 30.

I've been picking up games like Mario Golf, Metroid Prime 2, etc. And i'm looking for F-Zero GX, among others. They're real cheap now.

Nintendo still has their 1st party GCNgames priced rather steep.

Some 3rd party multiplat games are cheaper on PS2 and XBOX while the GCN version is higher.

For instance, I am looking for Dead to Rights for GCN but I saw the XBOX versionselling for 12.99 Brand New. The GCN one costs 6.99 for a Used copy. Pretty unfair.

It's the multiplats that are often killers, especially if they have niche value or did well on the GCN. Take Killer 7 or Viewtiful Joe, both much MUCH cheaper on the PS2.

I'm with you. Plenty of good cheap games out there for the Cube. On eBay you can find plenty for under $10.00 and every now and then you can find a good deal at EB/Gamestop. For the price of a new PS3/Wii/XBox 360 game you can get a handful of decent Cube games.

I you don't have it already, I'd recommend Roadkill - you can buy it new on eBay for $10.00 if you're lucky. I never saw it at any stores and that's a shame because it's a fun little game, especially the multiplayer. Look it up on IGN for some videos if you're not familar with it.

I also recommend Pinball Dreams - I've seen that EB for $10.00 recently.

You are right Bubble_Man. GC games are becoming cheaper and cheaper as new systems are coming out. Where I live the only high priced GC games are the newer gamessuch as Twilight Princess. Even that is only priced at$45! I have a few friendsthat have Wiis and they always ask me for game recommendations from the GC. Easily said as a system gets older the prices of games get lower and lower as time goes on.

Nintendo really needs to drop prices on their first-party GC games faster, or they're not going to get any sales as buyers abandon the GC.

...Wait a minute... Nintendo's actually probably trying to hit the 'GC-less Wii owner who wants some GC games" market too. So in that sense it's a really good business idea, to get even more product life out of the games.

And for those who don't have or want a Wii, they're keeping the GC system alive by still producing it and keeping it's price low.

Gamecube games are still holding their value pretty well because of the Wii's backwards compatibility... but for systems like the Xbox, the prices for games on that platform have plummetted.

nothing cheap about the good games. Good games like SF vs SNK are still around $20 used. Most in ok condition, w/o box or instructions.

The prices here in the UK for pre-owned Cube games have gone through the roof. I was lucky enough to pick up some great deals just after christmas but the prices have now shot up.

I picked up lots of multiple deals like four for £20 or two for £20. but now some are £24.99 on their own and also not in that good condition.

Zelda Collectors Edition,Zelda Windwaker (with bonus disc) 2 for £20 in Feb,but now Zelda Windwaker is £19.99 on its own without the bonus disc. I haven't seen the Collectors edition for sale since.

Geist,Eternal Darkness,Mario Kart DD, Battalion Wars. Tese cost me4 for £20 in Feb and now Geist is £24.99, Eternal Darkness is £14.99, MarioKart is £14.99 and Battalion Wars is £16.99.

Their are many more examples and some really high prces for some games if you can find them. The Highest prices I have seen were for Chibi Robo I payed £12.99 but saw a used copy at £34.99 a few weeks ago and it was in poor condition. Ikaruga was a two for £20 deal with pickmin 2, but both are now over £20 each.

I feel sorry for the people that have probably got rid of them for a few £s and then seen the price go through the roof.

I have most of the cube games I want but have just had to spend £18 to secure a copy of Killer 7 in mint condition. I have seen it only once locally and it was £16.99 but I passed on it because it looked in poor condition.

I just think anything older will be cheaper. Doesn't have to have a "dead" system.

I'd love it if the Mario sports games came down in price, but I don't think that is going to happen. Any of the game stores that I frequent have dozens of used GC games, and many of them are worth the
